Its a very done thing in americal, and I know I want one, so everyone knows what they are doing/standing, that bms walk down aisle at right speed , im pertified of the walking to fast. For thos who are closer to their date if your doing this is the registra coming tk rehersal and do you have to pay extra? As I was thinking what if i tell hubby to stand 'here like so ' and registra instucts him differently and it makes it wrong! I like the look on american weddings ( wedding crashers)with the bride and groom in middle and then moh and the Best man next then bms, ushers, juniors bm and flower girl/pages boys, i think it looks so cute !

Were not having a rehearsal and i think you would end up having to pay for the registrar to come out as they do weddings everyday.
You would have to check with your local one tho.

You can have your day the way you want it

You always have a rehearsal for a church wedding but I don't think registrar's do rehearsals. I assume you'd have to pay for their time if you wanted one?

As mine is in my local church I think it is their done thing to have a rehearsal but it is more of a final meeting at some point in the week before with just the bride and groom not the full bridal party.

A lot of churches do actually do rehearsals in the UK... not because its an american thing, but more because some church services, in particular masses, can be quite complex. Plus it's good for the couple to run through the marriage rites etc... Especially in the Catholic church where the bride and groom marry each other... not the priest marrying the couple!

We're having one the day before.

In my church, it was the whole bridal party because it was the vicar telling us what happens and when everyone needs to do things x

I am hoping we have a rehearsal. We are getting married in a Methodist Church and I know we will definitely need a bit of instruction. Is this normally the week before? x

Yes usually in the week before at some point. We are travelling from Sussex to Lancashire for our wedding and our vicar is coming from Wales so I think ours might even have to be the evening before which I hope its not as I dont want to see my H2B the day before.

I'll be having one in the church. I need to, with nerves I'd probably storm down the aisle like a possessed woman. X

We're having one in the church, there's no way I'd be not having one. As others have mentioned the service isn't as clear cut as a wedding at a registrar and I'd be glad for a run through. We'll all be going out for a nice meal afterwards.

Yeah, we're getting married in a church and will be having a rehearsal. Mainly so everyone knows where to stand and small things like that. I don't want to get to the top of the aisle and find everyone's in my way lol x

In a church you do have a rehearsal. My father recently retired as a Methodist Minister and he has regularly done wedding rehearsals. I don't know if it was included in the fee.

I've practised my walk up the aisle and we went over the vows today, that's the most we'll be rehearsing. If the registrar wanted us to have a proper rehearsal I would have one, but they don't so I won't. I've seen plenty of weddings to know what to do.

Just with the music going showing everyone what will happen, what pace to walk, whete to stand, owner/coordinator will be there so he can coordinate registra when he gets there!

The registrar will play the music and call you in. When the guests look at you you'll be standing to your H2B's left (tradition is so his right hand is free to get his sword if anyone came to steal the bride - true story!).

We will have a rehearsal about 2 - 3 days before the wedding (Church Wedding). My friend got married at the same church nearly a year ago now and she had a rehearsal as well. It was good because the vicar showed us where we would stand as bridesmaids, showed her dad where he would stand and then sit and he how he was supposed to give her away (taking her left hand and putting it in H2B's hand or somat like that), where they would sit for the readings and stuff and then where we would go to sign the register (I was her witness). It also gave them the chance to sort out the music, telling them which track was for which part of the wedding and to choose whether they were having love and to cherish or to honour and obey in the wedding vows.

Church weddings have rehearsals but registrars wont do rehearsals. Also, a lot of hotels wont let you have one either as they will want to be able to hire out the rooms whenever they can, which they couldn't do if they had told you that you could go in for an hour to rehearse ready for your wedding xxx
