I had my hair and make up trial last week. I'm having my hair mostly down and wavy with a little bit clipped up on the back of my head, a bit lower than the "crown" of my head in a nice clip. What I'm a bit confused about is where to put my veil?! I originally thought the comb would slide in over the top of my clip but the hair and make up lady said the veil has to go on the crown of my head "because that's just where they go". I'm not 100% sure about having it up there as my clip is a little bit sparkly and shows up under my veil and looks a bit silly. I was just wondering where abouts others were having their veils?

Without seeing pics my first thought is to place the comb to the veil under your clip.

I'm not sure they HAVE to go on the crown of your head! I too am having my hair half up half down probably with some kind of bun as the up part and I am having my veil under the bun. The lady in the bridal shop even put it in my hair where it would be when I was choosing my veil.

I can't see why it wouldn't be able to go above your clip.......It may depend on how long the teeth of the comb of he veil is though perhaps?

My friend had the veil where your clip is and it looked lovely, I suppose it's whether you want the veil for decoration or for the tradional aspect and you will be wearing the veil to cover your face at the start of the ceremony :)

They don't have to go at the crown at all! There's lots of brides that wear high buns and wear the veil underneath...what a load of rubbish!

I thought that about the buns too! I'm not having the veil over my face - I'd be way too claustrophobic!
I might do a trial myself next time I curl my hair and just see how it looks lower down!

ik also finding this a problem had my hair trial few weeks ago and loved it, the hairdresser said it might be difficult with the veil as you wont see the back of the hair x

That's a load of rubbish ! I'll be wearing my veil at the back of my head.. I think it would look lovely coming out from under your clip as if its attached to it xxx

your veil doesnt have to go on crown of your head. you can have it whereever you want. try it on in a few places and see what you like the most. to be honest i think ill be taking mine off before dinner as it was annoy me being on all day as it is cathedral length x

I am wearing a 'side' tiara - if that's the right name?! - and I want my veil to start from right behind the band on the top of my head, so it's not at the crown either. I agree with others - try a few places, see which you like best, then ask for that. You get to decide how you wear it, nobody gets to dictate to you!

Veils can go anywhere, but I suppose it depends on your hair style. I'm having my hair half up half down and the styled bun will have the comb of the veil slid into that.

I think it would look lovely under your clip - I have short hair and if I wear mine on top of my head I look like I have no hair !! so I am wearing mine lower down - try a few positions and see where it feels and looks best x

I had mine on my crown as it looked silly lower down but I had quite a short veil.
Place it where you want, it's how you want to look!!!
