Wedding Forum - Dress stress...

I ordered my dress June 20th last year, I was told it would take about 6 months to arrive.
By Feb I thought "I wonder if it's in?" Rang them yes (Why didn't they ring me?) and then asked about making appointments for fittings. I was told 3 weeks before would be fine.
So I went for my fitting 2 weeks ago. Popped in today to ask whether my dress had come back today and was told the Seamstress was due in today with all the dresses she was working on and they would ring me later.
By 5 still no call, so I rang them. She said that my dress wasn't ready but would be in the begining of next week.
BEGINING OF NEXT WEEK? MY WEDDING IS A WEEK NEXT SAT!!!
I'm not being funny or anything, but my dress cost A LOT of money!! Money that is worthwhile spending if fits perfectly, but I'm not paying that to look like a sack of spuds. I want another fitting so that if it's not perfect there is time to sort things out.
Anyway after voicing my concerns (which isn't like me at all!) she said she would ring me back.
Which she did and told me my dress would be in tomorrow so I can have a fitting Sat afternoon.
I can't believe the nonsense!! I don't need this stress!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I would be like that too - as you need to make sure it fits perfectly! I'm getting worried as I was supposed to have the swatch through by now and haven't had it so need to speak to them today as they told me 2 -3 weeks and that was a month ago.

Well done though for being firm with them and getting it sorted for tomorrow!!!!

you have every right to rant, they should be more prepared... i hope it al works out for you.. :)

I'm sure it will be fine tomorrow but keep thinking about it. Woke up this morning early (which isn't like me at all- not a morning person) with my heart racing and it's going 10 to the dozen now. Don't think it will change until 5 tomorrow when I know either way and get a definate deadline!! ARGGHHHHH!!! Think I'd better go to the gym and swimming tonight after work to vent my frustration!!

Kizzy good luck with your dress too, if u'r being measured in May that gives them 4 months. I'm sure that will be fine just keep badgering them. I can understand why some women turn into Bridezillas; it seems it's the only way things get done properly!! Vendors are more than happy to take your money and add a zero on to the pricetag when u mention the word wedding but don't always live up to the expense!!!

Just an update from today: my dress is amazing! I love it!!! Just wish that my arms weren't so fat!! LOL
But the dress is just perfect. Everything is done now: I've a couple of extra Swarovski crystals to put onto my tiara (I'm making it myself) and job done! Aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so excited!
Oh got to clean my house! Neglected that a bit!!! Lol
after tomorrow I'll be done!!

Oh that is great news hun! Im glad it went well... now go hire a cleaner for the week and kick back and relax lol ;o) xx
