I am looking at hair and make up quotes around the Gloucestershire area and all decent looking artists charge about £300 for hair and make up (including a trial). Is this normal? It seems like and awful lot. I have seen a few places that charge like £100 for hair/make up AND trials, but they don't look too impressive.
Thing is I don't want to look like a clown and I want to feel beautiful and confident on my wedding day, so I don't want to go for someone not very good just because they are cheap. At the same time, £300 sounds like a lot for hair and make up so I am a little torn.
How much did you / will you be paying for yours and also do any of you have any good recommendations from the Gloucestershire area? I live in Cirencester by the way, right in the middle of the Cotswolds.

Im from Liverpool and the average ive had is around £50 per person. Im not too sure on your quote as it depends on how many people its for. X

It was just for the bride! This includes a hair and make up trial, hair and make up on the day and travel to the house. Oh dear, £300 does sound quite expensive. :(

Not Gloucestershire, but I'm probably going with a lady in Bristol, charging £150 for hair and make-up including trial, plus £25 each for beidesmaids hair. Best price ive found and pics on her site look good. Her name is H*e*l*e*n F*a*r*l*e*y if you fancy a look.

300 does sound quite expensive. my makeup with a professional free lance makeup artist is costing £75 including a trial. My Hair is £60 including a trial but i have got this a little cheaper as she is friend of family x

For make up for the bride I've been quoted £120 for day and trial.
For hair I've been quoted £160 for day and trial.
So quite expensive again, I'm still looking around though. I find it just gets so expensive with hair and make up for bridesmaids as well, didn't quite factor this much into my budget.
Its difficult though because like you say you want to look good on the day

Mines also bristol but will travel. Shes got amazing recommendations and is a really lovely girl. For me its 200 for make (including trial for bride) and 4 bms on the day.. doesnt do hair thiugh but has others she can recommend. Ill give you her details if interested. X
