    Hi all,

I'm looking for some thoughts. My h2b isn't into formal morning suits so we have bought normal suits, ties, pocket squares etc, but I wasn't going to bother about a waistcoat (mainly because he's 6"5 and getting one long enough is stressful!) and just let him and the best men wear their suits as they are, but I'm now worried he won't look right without one... does the groom have to have one do you think?

    Cheers

my H2B is in his army uniform in the day but he loves the tails and waistcoats and canes that the others are wearing in the day (had to say no to top hats - best man was not happy lol). we are paying for him to have his uniform in the day and a suit like the rest for the evening. He is having a waistcoat because he likes it - if your other half doesnt want one then he definitely doesnt have to. everyone is different - ask him what he wants and let him choose xx

It is a traditional, formal day but also toned down, less rigid, more relaxed. I love waistcoats and think they look lovely...but we just can't find one to fit him/match his suit...think I'll not worry! Thanks girls x

A proper tailor should easily be able to get him a waistcoat that fits him.. But if he's not fussed I wouldn't worry though.. Make sure he's not toning down your dress by not wearing one though.. My bro was going to get normal suit but with my sils dress, they'd have looked very odd and like they were meant to be at two different weddings xxx

If it is too stressful to find one that fits then leave it :)
