Im thinking about that i may in the last 5/6 months before the wedding have a personal trainer to get me right down to where i want to be. anyone else do this, i think my h2b may need this too, do they do couple packages, its not coz i don't think hes sexy its because i know he does not feel that way , just like me. aswell as i want us to both look the best we can and not look back in year to come and think oh god i look like a fat cow.

Hi Lana :) I used to have a personal trained a few years ago and he was amazing! I would recommend having one especially if you want to shift a few pounds. The only thing I will say is mine used to work me until I cried or puked, I know they aren't all like that but whoever you get will push you past when you think you can do which is difficult at first.

    Hope that helped a but.

I would love to have a personal trainer, my aunt used one and got from a size 16 - a size 8 and looked fantastic!
But I don't think I can afford on unfortunately :( Annoyingly one of my friends from my home town just became a personal trainer and said he would train me up but he lives 500 miles away. boooo

    xx

Im working with a PT, best decision I ever made.
At first its really hard but after a few sessions you actually start to enjoy it. I don't think you ever realize how hard you can work until you work out with a PT.
Ive lost a lot of weight and learned loads of new stuff that I can do in the gym or at home or in between sessions.

    I'm sort of having one?

A friend of mine is a fitness instructor and she said she'd help me get in shape (though she promised she wouldn't make me cry and vomit! :P) with general fitness and boxercise.

She said she'd come to the gym with me too - I need the motivation!

Me and H2B are doing weight watchers together but we've hit a bumps in the road every couple of months so I think I need the extra help! I'll let you know how it goes when it starts in September :)

I've used one recently to shift a few pounds before dress shopping and he was great! In 6 weeks I lost 8lb, 2.2% body fat and 12 inches in total from my body.

Will use him again before the wedding as he did the nutrition plan too

They can be good...but I'd try a taster session before you commit as some can be crap and not good value for money.

You could also try boot camp classes... they're great all over conditioning for all shapes/sizes/genders and normally a lot cheaper.

They normally run in small groups using equipment like ropes, tyres, med balls, sprint efforts and are like a more arduous (And effective) circuit training. They also use more natural terrain resistance are they are normally run outdoors.

Classes are normally small too so you'll get good pointers and assistance.

I had a personal trainer for 6 sessions before joining the RAF to get me smashing pressups and fit for the first few weeks to cope... He was very good as he was ex army...had 2 taster sessions with others since but didn't like them so I think I just got lucky with him!

You could also use apps like Couch to 5km to help you, or another App I like to use is Gym Pact. You commit to how many workouts a week you are going to do on the sunday night. you also choose your stakes (all done in $) for each missed workout.

If you don't meet your goal at the end of the week you are charged per workout missed, so if you committed to 4 and only did 3 and had stakes of $5, you'd pay $5, if you missed 2 workouts you'd pay $10 etc.
The best thing is, the thought of losing money is a good enough excuse to workout. And you gain a small amount of money for meeting your pact (about $2 / week) which comes from the financial penalties of those who didn't meet their pact!

Its a great app as when you lose out and get charged, it really does make you make sure the next week you do workout! You can log in at the gym using gps, use runkeeper (2mph sustained pace average for a minimum of 30 mins. but you can walk, run, jog or cycle!) or with iphone you can use the accelerometer to do home workouts.

I do think personal trainers can SOMETIMES be a waste of money unless you are very overweight, seriously have no self motivation and or have very specific complex goals...such as athletes, aspiring athletes and bodybuilders. However, a few sessions maybe the kickstart you need just to help you on your way.

I try to act as h2b's personal trainer by making him run to lose weight...which in turn... gets me out of the door! Plus I make him do the walks with me using runkeeper if needs be for my gympact!
