We are! Check your contracts most will have something in them about food and drink and if not ask them what they normally do at weddings!
we are also providing sandwichs and a soft drink each for our trio (playing guests in and for the service) and have told the silhoutte artist to help herself to the bacon rolls and chip cones in the evening!

We asked if he expected it and he said no he was bring some food with him to eat outside on his break while we're eating however as he's with us til 10pm I've told him he's having some hog roast at the evening reception! He had no choice in the matter...felt a bit bad!

Definately feed them. The are the one supplier who will be with you throughout your entire wedding. Putting some food their way won't hurt I'm sure.

i have been wondering this too! obviously our photographer will be able to help himself to the evening buffet but what do you do about the wedding breakfast? we pay per head so should he be there too?

One BIG day will lead to lots of little happy days !!

We are! as both my videographer and photographer are there til first 3-4 dances and when we booked them they cut us a really good deal and helped us out too, so I thought I could return the favour. what im not sure about though is that do we include them in the numbers?

Hi, We are feeding our photographer. he isnt having the menu from the wedding breakfast but have told him he can choose from the menu that the hotel has in their restaurant, with possibly giving him a limit to spend up to. He was really surprised we had offered him this and said no one had before.

i just phoned our photographer and asked him if he would like to join us for the meal and he declined! im quietly happy about this as i was worried about the numbers but he says he takes the photos of the tables and the speeches then he will slip away for half an hour and have his packed lunch and check through his pics to see if he has any suggestions like " i havent got one with so and so ans so and" very professional!! but he said he would be greatful to join the evening buffet (he would have been invited to the evening as a guest anyway as hes a friend of h2b) so glad i cleared that up!

We're going to tell ours that he can order a meal from the bar while we're having the wedding breakfast, and charge it to our room. We'll also tell him he can help himself to any nibbles that I plan on having in my room in the morning during bridal prep, and to the evening buffet.

I asked my photographer if he would like some food providing/ a bar meal paid on / lunch made up at a suitable time, He actually looked quite shocked, said he'd never been asked before, but turned us down and said he would be bringing his own food to eat when a quite time was available. I think ill end up forcing food upon him tho. x

We're feeding our photographer, but mainly because she is travelling from the north-east of England to Hereford for our wedding.
So she'll but up at the crack of dawn and then leaving about 7.30pm- so it seems like the right thing to do. So she is included in the wedding breakfast numbers.

As for the string quartet, as they are playing for more than 2hrs it was in the contract to supply them with sandwiches and soft drinks.

    I hope that helps x

We checked with our photographer and she didn't want feeding unless she was there all day and night too, she was oan old friend so I was able to ask quite bluntly what the usual stance was - she said if there all day usually a snack or bar meal would be sufficient like the others have said it gives them time to check over the shots and check they are happy with everything up to that point!

We're going to offer them a snack or bar meal - and yes, if a builder was at our house all day they would at least be offered a bacon sarnie.

Don't forget about offering them water or a soft drink or something, too xx

Blimey laura .... can i come do building work at your house if there are bacon butties on offer .

my reasoning on the builders is .... i employ them to do a job for which they get paid well ... why do i need to provide them with lunch at my expense too ! ( the occasional cuppa i would do)

Depends what's in your contract. It's a question I asked though when we were interviewing all of the 6 shortlisted photographs.

Our photographer did not require a meal but we had a couple of late drop outs for genuine reasons so rather than the food going to waste I offered our photographer the full 3 courses and he gratefully accepted.

Vendors normally get vendor meals and not the wedding breakfast, this is something that your venue/caterer can help you with if there are any questions.

well i went to see her and she was fabulous, she is the photographer of my dreams :)

her minimum package is £650 but because its a friday wedding and out of season she offered it me for much less! i told her i would gladly feed her as i dont want her to be with us all day and not eat and she humbly refused and said it would give her chance to pop home and feed her dog and see if theres anything im missing!

she knows ive practically given her carte blanche for our photos cos we dont do well in 'posey' situations

We fed ours, simply because they were the only supplier who spent the entire day with us from start to finish. (9pm) We thought it was the least we could do. If they're only staying for the ceremony/speeches etc, then yes, maybe you could wing it, but as it was, They were up at 7am, and i dare say, didn't get back home until at least 10pm, so 13 hours+ with no food? Hmm! Ain't gonna happen! ;-) We also supplied a six-pack of mineral water for them as well.

At the end of the day, feeding them will ensure they're fed/hydrated throughout the day which means you will be better off, as you'll get better photos. It's a win-win.
