I really need your help ladies. I am only having 1 bridesmaid and thought getting the dress would be easy. However last night we spent 3 hours around a large shopping centre and didn't seem to find anything suitable. The colour scheme is purple, silver and ivory so I thought purple dress and silver shoes. We have decided that it needs to be empire line or waterfall to suit the bridesmaid body shape and calf length. she also wants her back and tops of her arms covered so need some sort of bolero / shrug. Any ideas? I am on a tight budget so was hoping to get it for £180. I have got plenty of time but felt quite despondent last night and even contemplated changing colour but really want purple :(

(I had to read this thread as I initially miss read it has 'help to rebuild bridesmaid!!)
3 hours is nothing hun, we did 3 x 9 hour sessions for my friend's wedding before she settled on something she liked!!! (and then it was one we put on in the first half of the firt day...)
Have you tried BHS wrap dresses? A lot of ladies on here have said they're fab. £180 is quite a healthy budget so shouldn't restrict you too much. Could you also look for full length ones and get it altered to the calf length she wants?

£180! Wow i'm hoping to get 4 of my Bridesmaids done with that. But tbh, i avoid anything that says Bridesmaid dress on as they like to double the price tag!
We're also having Purple and Silver, and i found a beautiful Purple Maxi Dress for £30 on the Look of New ;) so can get all 4 for £120, which leaves me money for some shoes.
I was quite lucky in coming across mine quite quickly that all my girls liked, try having a look online, type exactly what you want into a search engine and click on the shopping part and you'll get some good links that you can go through (Y)

Thanks thats fab - think I was getting a bit bogged down with it all. December - I think it was the bride that needed rebuilding lol.
I did try the wrap dresses but she wasn't keen - have now planned more shopping trips but think I will definitely trawl the net.

Hi Paula,
Your colour theme sounds more like rich, lovely, wintery themed colours.... Have you thought about holding off and waiting to see what the shops get in for their winter collections - you do have lots of time until your big day which is a massive help. Also, I'd reccommend looking at the outlet sites - theres a couple within an hour of me and both were fab for bridesmaids dresses - there was evern a C0ast outlet at one where I got my dresses. I think your budget is perfectly reasonable - I spent £100 per bridesmaid on dress and shoes so you'll defo get what you need. Other than that, I agree with the other ladies, look online first, when you've narrowed it down a bit, then go to the shops, otherwise youll get bogged down! Good luck :-) x
