    Hi all you lovely B2B's

I've searched and couldn't find the answer I am looking for so am hoping one of you ladies can help me?

We are hoping to get married in 2015 we live in Chesterfield however our wedding venue is in Sheffield and i'm not sure which office i need to book the registrar from? I know i can't give notice until february 2014 and i'm pretty certain this needs to be done in the town I live, am i right?

    Thanks in advance

    a very confused Kelly

Your Venue should tell you what area to come under for example, we are getting married in Feering which is Colchester way but live in Southend. So we had to book our registrar through Braintree Council but we gave notice in Southend. They then communicated with each other and shortly after we received our booklet about choosing music and vows etc.

    I hope that helps.

You should give notice in the district you live in and book the registrar from the district you get married in xxx

You give notice in the town you live. If you both live in different districts then you each give notice in your own districts. You then have to take the paperwork to the registry office in the area that you are getting married. Hope this makes sense. :)

It can be confusing, I wori and live away. In the RAF, but all my billing is to my parents address. Ill also be living there before getting married cos im getting married in my home town. H2b is from Southend but all his mail goes to camp... so he has to register in lincoln!
