My h2b told me last night he hasn't got the money to hire suits for the groomsmen! So he proposed everyone just wore there own suit!! Obviously i was very disappointed , his mum has offered the money to pay for them but he's refused any money from her as he thinks spending her money on ONE DAY isn't an effective use of the money and he'd rather wait until we need the money to move house. He also won't accept any money from his friends towards this. I have proposed that he hires suits for himself, the BM and my dad and the 3 ushers wear there own suits but with co-ordinating accessories, but i'm worried how this is going to look in the photos, esp as h2b, bm and fob will be in dark grey morning suits and ushers in black suits! (Altho h2b doesnt want to wear a morning suit, he wants to wear a lounge suit and has come up with loads of reasons why he shouldn't wear one!) I also have to break this news to my mum who is going to go mental!! Help!! x x

can you not talk to ur h2b and explaine that the photos would be better if they all had the same suits, and that maybe they could all hire their own just for that one day... :)

I'd say ask the groomsmen to hire their own suits. I actually think your h2b is being very sensible about not wanting your mum to pay for them. I know it's a big thing for you but groomsmen are the groom's responsibility, not the bride's. I hear what you're saying about your photos so maybe asking the groomsmen to hire their own is the way to go, but to be honest our groomsmen are wearing their own suits, all we've asked is they're black with white shirts, I'm buying a co-ordinating tie for them.
As for your h2b not wanting to wear a morning suit - I don't blame him, I used to wear one for work (but with a skirt, not trousers) flippin' horrible uncomfortable things they are, give me a regular suit any day!! I don't want to sound like I'm speaking out of turn but your h2b needs to be comfortable, I know you've got a vision as to how you want your pics to look but I think it's more important that he's happy with what he and his gm are wearing.
