    Hey!

So for ages before i even got engaged the dress that i thought was the dress of my dreams was exactly like the Justin Alexander 8630 so I was so excited when i found it...i knew i didn't want strapless, fish tail or bling...
Now when I tried the dress on...it was nice, it was very flattering but it wasn't WOW :(
So i continued looking...and looking...eventually i found a dress i LOVE...its the Ronald Joyce Belen (67024) **Which i should add is strapless fishtail and bling!** it looks amazing on and i really liked it. but i didn't cry, and my mum didn't cry and i didn't think instantly 'its the one'...this was a few weeks ago and i have since tried on more dresses (approx 100 now!)
Whenever I try on other dresses i think of the Ronald Joyce but something stops me from committing...is it because this isn't the one or is it because I am giving up my very traditional image of my dream dress?? is it normal not to know? and how many more can i possibly try on?!
    aaaaaaaaggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhh! haha!

Have you tried strapless, fishtail or bling?

almost everyone i spoke too has ended up finding 'the one' amongst those they thought theyd hate! The first dress i thought was 'the one' was gorgeous but something made me wnt to keep looking and the very next dress i tried one was THE ONE. My mum took some convincing but I was in love.

If you arent sure and you sound lke youve tried on a lot...why dont you take a break for a little while and come back to the dress hunting in a few weeks. There is defintiely such a thing as overload and then nothing looks right!!!

    Good luck!!!!!!!!!!

PS. just looked at the ronald joyce dress...that is gorgeous! (nd plenty bling so im gonna assume you have stepped outside what you thought you wanted)

I agree, take a break...you have a while yet and there will be a whole new season of dresses out before your big day...

Not saying that you shouldn't be looking yet at all, but I think when you are looking at too many in a short space of time they all sort of merge into one...

thanks for the advice! the only problem is that although the wedding is 23 months away I won't be in the country from Nov 2013 to Dec 2014...so I have to pick my dress before I leave as I won't have time to do it when I come back from travelling! aghhhh! another reason why its causing me so much stress! xx

So many brides end up with a dress the complete opposite to what they think they wanted initially.

Go with the dress that makes you feel like a Princess and a bride. You don't have to cry but when you put it on you just know that is the one you want to walk down the aisle in and when you try on other dresses you can't stop thinking about"that" dress xxx

Oh gosh, yeah I can see why it would be!! Sorry, didn't realise.

Maybe just leave it a month, go back and try on a few other dresses and then try on the Ronald Joyce dress.

Don't get yourself stressed about it, or feel like you have to burst into tears.

Have you tried asking the assistants what they think would suit? Sometimes it helps you get outside the box, so to speak xx

Haha thats ok i was trying to make the post not too long but i left out a lot of the important details!!

Yeah I think I am defo going to have a break and then go back. I had the most amazing experience in the bridal shop with the Ronald Joyce dress...the assistants were so nice and they loved the dress on me and let my mum take loads of pics of me in it!

I do think about the bloody dress every day its gorgeous and I felt like a million dollars in it...I just think cos I cry at everything wedding I thought i was going to be a proper sap! I'm going to try it on next with my bridesmaids and see if i can squeeze a few tears out of them ;) xx

Just noticed you're in Chigwell hun, down the road from me, I'm in Epping.

Where have you been to try on dresses?

I felt like I had tried on loads, when actually it was only 24 dresses in bridal stores and a couple of high street ones. I was lucky in that the dress I ended up getting was dress number 6 in the first shop I went to but had to try on more just to be sure it was the one. Then I realised that every dress I tried on was compared to my dress and i couldn't stop thinking about it, especially when I had a minor addition to it which was only possible because the owner of the small independent boutique was so flexible, the kind of service that I just didn't experience in any of the other stores.

Let me know if you want the details of the shop, it's just a small wedding boutique on Epping high street but the owner is brilliant, no pressure, so helpful and flexible. She may help you make up your mind xxx

InDreamland, a fellow essex bride! Would love the details of the boutique...I haven't been to Epping yet! My favourite shop so far was the one in Ongar, they were just so lovely, been to Chelmsford and Brentwood (pretty much all of the shops there) been to Romford, South Woodford a couple in London...LOTS! xx

Don't get the dress from south Woodford! My sister and I got the bridesmaids dresses for her wedding from there and had the worst experience!

Ah yes, I heard the one in Ongar is nice but i never got to go there because after trying dresses in Epping, Lakeside shopping centre (dreadful), Pronovias on Bond street and berkertex, I just didn't need to go anywhere else.

I've sent you a friend request, accept and I'll private message you the details of the boutique xxx

I think they get too complacent because they're an established store and many brides just go there because they don't know where else to go and get pressured into a dress. I had such terrible experiences with both those shops xx

I went in thinking... A-line, chiffon , traditional shape and white.... And after 4 shops and 15 dresses I came out with fitted, organza, fish tail and ivory.... Try it on again... If you've tried 100 dresses yet u still are thinking about this one then to me that is your dress...
