This is a query to all the lovely ladies that have been making their own brooch bouquets, what sort of flowers are you using, foam or silk and can you give me some ideas where you are getting these from pretty please???? I am really loving this idea, and am slowly swaying from my idea of a bauble bouquet, which is what I was thinking of doing for my christmas wedding :) x

Have you tried searching for tutorials on utube hun ? And you'll be able to get lovely broaches or what ever you decide on from the bay, probably in job lots with different sizes and shapes too :-) xxx

I am having mine done professionally but I know she uses foam flowers and they are from a wholesaler! If that helps - she is teaching me how to do them as I love making things so may know a bit more soon haha! xxx

Thanks Brilly. Well I went hunting through my stash, as I make cards and altered items and I have a desk and cupboards full of stuff and low and behold I found a small bunch of white foam roses. I ordered some brooches a couple days ago and they came this afternoon!!! wahoooooo. So I have now created a very small brooch bouquet, and my girls love it. I am trying to take a decent photo of it!!! arrhhhh lol

I would use foam as they are a bit more robust then silk. I've seen them done both ways and I think it's really just a personal preference.

I have now made a foam roses and brooch bouquet and a silk roses and crystal bouquet and I have to say I prefer the look of the silk roses but the foam were a lot easier to work with silk flowers have very hard plastic steam with thick wire running through them. I found them hard to hold in a big bunch and also they don't bend very easy so are hard to position properly. foam are a lot easier to work with and are a lot lighter which will come in handy with the brooch adding a lot of weight to the bouquet's.
the bay is great for foam roses I know a good seller that I used she sells in bluk and does free delivery so let me know if you want the link. brooches I found to be best coming from the card company that crafts by hand.
