Does anyone else have a problem with the idea of at the end of the ceremony being presented as man and wife??? I find it really insulting , so hes the man and im just the wife???? I will be making sure our registra knows that we are husband and wife!

I'm not really bothered to be honest, as long as we are married then I'm happy. Our registrar didn't ask how we wanted to announced when we met to finalise the plans but they may ask when we have our meeting on the day.
I can't wait until 29/06/2013

Actually I don't recall getting either! We said our vows, exchanged rings then I'm sure the priest just asked our guests to give us a round of applause.

I know at my sisilaw to be's ceremony the reverand did not say you may now kiss the bride which i think rather upset them both , in the church at the ceremony her hubby actually tryed to prompt her to say it but she just said to him 'pleanty if time for that later!' Wtf i mean its yoyr ceremony and you always kiss!

And we lived happily ever after!

InDreamland, they will have pronounced it one way or another, it's part of the legal requirement. The line about kissing the bride however is not actually an original part of the service. It's something that came over from America and was seen in movies and adopted as a tradition. It certainly isn't in the CofE service, so it's something that you would need to check if you want it said. Although most vicars will include it now anyway, as it's become something that the congregation will be expecting.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
CommentAuthorWhovianbride
^ did not know that, but now adays its a bit mean to not include it
