Ive just received an email from my photographer and although im penciled in, ive not been able to pay a deposit yet! Anyway i got an email saying shes had an enquirey ref the day after for a wedding and where abouts i am in being able to pay deposit before she gets back to this other women as she only does ONE wedding a weekend! I am so stuck at what to write back as i know i cant pay the deposit yet but i REALLY dont want to lose her and im just sitting here depressed as i love her work its fantastic. (if anyone wants to see her work i'll put link on my wall in a min) H2b is no help he just says thats fine we have 13 months to find another one! I KNOW THAT but i LOVE her work!

Is the deposit expensive?
Try ask if you can pay a more manageable deposit?

Its only £150 but h2b's wage has gone down to 20% of his wage as going to monthly from weekly so were only getting £60 a week :-( and me being off work at the moment its really not feesiable (sorry spelling)

oh god thats a bummer,i know wht you mean about finding a good photographer,wev had ours booked for 18 months as he gets bookings from all over the country (no joke),good experienced photographers are like gold

Will she not give you a lower deposit price? Then just offer to pay her bits every week til you hit the proper deposit price
Is there a family member or a very close friend that might be able to help you out a bit?

Just wrote this, how does it sound?
Really sorry for not getting back to you sooner but with one thing and another weare unable to find the full deposit just yet. H2b is going from weekly to monthly so is only getting paid 20% of his wage at the moment and because of this were on a really tight budget.
Of course i would still LOVE to have you as our wedding photographer but because of the above we're not 100% guaranteed to give you your full deposit. Honestly we can't see us having enough till at least the end of April, we can give a token payment of at least £50 to guarantee your services but this is the best we can do for now and up to you if this is ok?

Might sound silly but have you thought about asking at your local newspaper. I used to work at one and alot of the photographers freelanced as wedding photographers etc and didn't charge the earth. It's worth asking they may be able to put you in touch with someone

Yeah thats what she said we could do, pay as and when we could just had to pay £150 dp and final payment at least a week before the wedding. Its just trying to find the dp at the moment with money being so tight :-( Hope she gets back to me soon, i hate waiting lol.
