Well tomorrow will be the first time our Banns are read out in church. We are getting married back home in Co. Durham but they have to be read in Norwich too. When we were first planning the wedding everyone was talking about how we'd have to go to church weekly and be at every reading of the banns but the church here in Norwich doesn't seem interested, theyve just told us to pick the certificate up in 3 weeks when theyre all done.
We will be going to one, not tomorrow because he has work and i have exams but probably net week and the last one. Their attitude just surprised me :S
we got told we only had to go to one at the church where we are getting married, not sure about where we live though! I thought we HAD to go to all of them! xx

We went today to the 2nd reading at the church we're getting married at, the vicar said it's not compulsory but is encouraged that we go to at least one...
I haven't heard from our local church though since we booked the banns, so not sure if I should contact them to check it's all ok??
Got together 3rd December 2008
Got engaged 22nd August 2012
Got married 23rd August 2013
I'd give them a call tomorrow, just to see what's going on.

I'm pretty sure you don't have to go to the banns, but my fiance and I will try to get to one in each church. My fiance is an anglican parish warden and trainee lay reader, so he's generally pretty good on the rules. I'm pretty sure they've done banns in his church when the couple weren't present. It's maybe more encouraged to attend a reading in your local church, particularly if that is where you are marrying. Obviously if you marry in say your parents' town and it's a long way away that might be easier said than done. Ours have to be read in three churches, as we both live in different parishes to the church which my fiance attends which is where we are getting married.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.
