Hi everyone just wondered what times people were getting ready on the day, I don't want to have to get up to early (although I have a feeling I'll be up anyway) but wondered when to have make up artist/hairdresser around. My weddings at 2pm and I was thinking about having them from 10/10.30? Its only me my 2 BMs and my mum. I've got ages but I like to get ideas and plan.

Anyone else planned their time yet or if your married how did it work for you?

Ooo good thread ! I was wondering this too ! I'd imagine your hairdresser and make up artist could give you a good idea of timing though... Especially if you have trials with them.. I'm like you, don't want to NEED to be up early, even though I probably will be with excitment.. If I NEED to be up early, I know I wont want to be haha ! Usually the way it goes !
I'm only having a hairdresser for the day, I'm doing my own make up but I'll want make up done before hair, so I'll get up a couple hours before she wants to turn up... I'm finding it hard to find someone who will come to my house in my area though ! They all want me to go to their salon !!!! xxx

Again, I shall be keeping an eye on this thread.

I have 6 BM's (adults) plus me and Mum lol. We are having hair and make up done at my Mums and then putting our dresses on at the venue.

If I have a conveyor belt system going on I think 4 hours should be enough for hair and make up. I get married at 130 but I am aiming to be at the venue for 12ish. So will probably ask the relevant people to be at mine for 730am/8am?

My sister is a hairdresser so if any touch-ups are needed for our hair she has said she could do them. She is also washing and straightening everyones hair the night before so the hairdresser I am having for the day only needs to style it.

    I got married at 2pm.

I stayed at my venue the night before. Got up at 715 for breakfast at 45. Left our venue at 830 for me to have my hair done at 9. Was back at the hotel again by 1030. Was due to have my make up done at 11 but my friend got delayed so between 11-12 I was floating around helping guests who had arrived but couldnt get their room yet find somewhere to get road. Make up at 12. My Bridesmaids and MOH arrived at about that time too. Photographer arrived at 1.15ish and took some photos in my room. The registrar arrived ad came to speak with me at about 1.30. Ceremony at 2.

We had our ceremony 2-230. reception drinks and photography until around 330. Then sat down for our meal at about 4 which concluded around 6. evening celebrations started at 7/730.

    Hope that helps! x

It was one of the things I didn't consider when arranging to have all 5 BM, me and mum hair and makeup together - until after the trials when hair lady says she'll need to be with me about 8am.
I know I'm likely to wake early on the day but I'm really not a morning person - booked a 2.30pm wedding so that I could take my time getting ready - but seem to have messed that up, all getting ready together.

Anyways - for some practical help - hair and makeup both expect to take about half hour per person - and hair lady wants hair done before makeup. They also both want to be finished at least 1 to 2 hours before we plan to leave - in case of any issues I guess

Thanks this all helps. Atleast I can get an idea but we'll have to see what the people involved want/think it will take. Shall have a better idea after trials, I just like to get things sorted early.

Hopefully while one has hair done, another can have make-up to keep it all going along.

My wedding is at half 3. Gotta leave at 2.45. Hair is being done at 9am which I thought was early..but ive been told it's best way to get curls to last all day. Make up isnt done till 12 though.

Georgi, you may want to look at wedding fayres in Lincoln, I went to one at the showground and there was a girl there who was willing to travel to Spilsby for me. Unfortunately her SILs wedding was the same day as mine, so she couldn't do it. But I'm sure you'll find someone willing to travel to yours :)

Wow can't believe how early people are starting their day lol.

I got married at 2.45pm and because I'm not a breakfast person, I skipped the hotel breakfast (snacked a bit later instead lol).
I spent the morning doing last minute chores such as getting flowers for both mums, picking up the schedule from the registry office (we got married at a different venue with a minister), and visiting the venue, meeting the minister and going over last minute arrangements with reception venue etc.

My hairdresser arrived at about 1pm (was supposed to be 12.30 but phoned to let me know she was running late after doing another wedding). There was only myself and my bm to do though, and we did our own make up so we were finished in plenty of time.

I got dressed about 2pm and my bm left with groom, best man and usher at 2.25pm. I was with my dad, kicking my heels and hanging around for transport til about 2.35 or so (only 5 minutes to the venue).

I arrived on time, had chance to have a few pics and talk to the minister before the ceremony as well.

Our ceremony was 2.45 til about 3.15pm then photos. We then had a drive round before getting back to the reception venue to greet everyone at about 4.45pm or so.

Our wedding breakfast was at 5 til about 6.45pm - then we had some 'us' time, taking cards/presents back to the room before meeting the guests in the hotel bar ready for the rest of the night.
