    Hi all,

So has anyone had their wedding reception or is anyone having their wedding reception in the Liverpool Adelphi hotel? Have been looking at it and it looks really nice, plus has a great wedding package price. The only downside is that have seen endless bad reviews about people's stay, saying that it's dirty and not very good, but they're all from years and years ago. There was a recent review from someone who went to a wedding there and said it was great, so thinking maybe they've improved since then? But wondering if anyone else has been there or is going there and can say if it's nice? My mum was saying it's probably just that people are more likely to leave a review if they've had a bad experience than if they've had a good one, which is probably true, just don't wanna go with them to do our wedding reception and then they turn out to be awful xxx

I've stayed there before and to be honest it wasn't a great stay, the rooms hadn't been cleaned, there were no towels in the room but this was about 4 years ago so it may well have changed. The hotel itself is beautiful it was just the rooms that were the problem

Thanks Sita_meena, yeah that's exactly what I saw in the reviews. I hope they have improved, but it does put me off a bit that there have been bad reviews xxx don't want to get to the wedding night to find a horrible, unclean room really xxx

If I were you, I'd go and stay there for the night, sample the rooms, foods, service etc.. Maybe book a wedding meeting the day of depature.. You don't have to announce that you have a wedding meeting there when you arrive, just arrive as normal guests and have the meeting the next day, and if you don't like them then at least you tried for yourself :-) xxx

That's very true, Georgi, that's a good idea. Have just found a website with recent reviews (this month), saying exactly the same that the rooms are dirty and even the bath etc. which would worry me right up to the day, especially if have guests staying there xxx Just not having much luck finding a reception venue in budget at the moment that seems a decent place xxx

I'd definitely go see for yourself.. The reviews on one of the hotels we've stayed in were absolutely terrible, but we thought it was absolutely fine.. They moaned about traffic being so so so noisey from the nearby motorway, we were on the corner nearest the motorway and you couldn't here a thing hardly cause the windows were triple glazed !! Some people moan for the sake of moaning.. Maybe these people are the odd people that run their fingers along the tops of doorways and look on top of the wardrobes ! If it's good, you've found your wedding venue, if it's rubbish then you've had an experience to tell the grandkids about lol xxx

I know someone who went to a wedding there and they were disappointed. It's was dirty and the staff were rude. But like you say you only hear about bad reviews xx

That is very true, just there wasn't one review that was just good, they all had lots of negative stuff and it was proper nasty stuff, like the beds looked like they'd already been slept in, they were stained, the baths were dirty like someone had been in it and they hadn't cleaned it. If that's true, I wouldn't be able to stay there, I would walk out, which is probably why it would be a good thing to experience it first and see what it's like for ourselves, though am worried to. I have a real issue with even basic rooms, so dirty rooms are just horrible xxx Really Natalie? You do, I was shocked that there aren't any really good reviews about the place anywhere have looked xxx
