Wedding Forum - Table Names *2nd Question re wording for...

So we're big disney fans, and not having a disney themed wedding but incorporating it into our wedding in subtle ways.
We have decided to name our tables after the 6 areas of the Magic Kingdom.

Top table of course will be Main Street (USA)
Then the 5 tables will be the 4 areas:

Fantasy (Land)
Adventure (Land)
Frontier (Land)
Discovery (Land)

Plus Sleeping Beauty's Castle

Now, my question to you is... originally we were going to name them without the 'land' at the end, hence the brackets. and same with Main Street. But we got in a muddle over how to name the castle one. As its 3 words, and the rest are one, bar top which is 2. I know im probably making a mountain out of a molehill here, but wording wise what do you think sounds better?

I know the idea is probably really cheesy and tacky to some of you but we didnt want to just go with 1,2,3,4.

we were worried the land may make it tooo tacky.. i know that sounds silly as its only half a word but yeh... i have to make a decision by tomorrow eek! x

I don't think it's tacky at all. I think your guests will appreciate it as it fits in with you two and your personalities rather than 1,2,3,4 like you said

I haven't done the plan yet but for the name cards i have used just first names unless i have 2 people with same name coming and added their surname and for the table plan it will probably be the same xxx

I just went onto fb to have a look at all my friends weddings, only one has put table plan up! shes done what i was thinking of... full names for plan then first names for tables themselves... theres one table with 3 pauls on though!!! they will just have their initials at end... the place cards are being hand written which can decide later on but going to the printers tomorrow so got to decide this bit! x

oooh deffo put the land on the end, it will put it into context for the people who don't know why you have called the tables that!!

Lovely idea, I'd want to be on the castle table though!! so i would have top table as the fairytale castle :) but thats just me! Im a disney geek too!!

Haha ! They think they're gettin away with so much saying that but all they do is annoy us haha !! Mines actually enjoying naming our tables but only cause he wants the name of Norwich FC's stadium on one of the tables I reckon !! lol.. He's got 4 more to name ! We're using places we've been.. I wanted a more orginial idea really, but I've got to give in to something lol.. xxx

I've just watched a video on Disney website as we go in December to Florida, and they call the castle 'cinderellas castle' could u use that if u wanted the table names two words?x

Add Land at the end of the table names it wont make it tacky your wedding is not Disneyland themed and you are subtly incorporating Disney where you can I think they sound A OK to me =D ♥ X

Its a great idea... I'm doing the same but naming tables after RAF bases and places Chris and I have lived & worked!

I think you could include the land on the others but in some ways, the names are great power adjectives on their own and may (if it's not already obvious to the guests with your Disney theme!) have them guessing why you named them that way! Plus you could use the words Fantasy, Adventure, Frontier, Discovery, Sleeping Beauty as table names alone and make them in to an icebreaker or something for your guests... so like something they have to do with that word... like a small task such as ()if you have a younger tbale who aren't too prude...they could have fantasy and talk about something a bit cheeky!) or Adventure where they can talk about the most adventurous thing they ever did to fellow table guests etc etc etc... and maybe on Discovery, place a name and object of somebody famous who discovered something and each has to play that rolw until the dessert course and see how many people guess the correct character etc...

Just some thoughts!

haha thanks for all the input ladies!!!

I went for land in the end, and we're the castle.... that was OH's choice and as sad as i am i did the layout the same as the map!
so the middle table (theres 5 and top) is main street as thats what you see and wlak down first... towards the castle which is the top table....
then the 4 tables around are the 'lands' in the right order! noone will understand that, other than those who know disney!

kelbel - yeh florida's is cinderellas castle... but as we got engaged in paris we've stuck with the paris ones! xx
