Wedding Forum - So excited!...

So on Friday I took my lovely nan out for lunch... And we stumbled across a jewellers on the high street I didn't even know was there. Anyway it's an independant jeweller that actually makes all his jewellery in the shop in view of customers, which amazes me, I've always loved jewellery and been fascinated about it and how it's all made.

Anyway we wandered in and waited to speak with him, and I was asking about wedding bands. My engagement ring is an antique, and is beautiful. But is proving difficult to find a wedding band to match. I want something to compliment it, and not detract from its beauty, however the more modern rings I have tried on look really tacky in relation to my e.ring and haven't looked right.

I don't know what I want, but I know when I see it ill know if that makes sense. Anyway the jeweller looked at my ring, and was able to give me even more information than my valuation report gave me on how old, all the old diamonds that are in it, how it was made etc which blew me away, and he took pen to paper and started drawing rings for me, one of which I think is perfect. I'm having diamonds in my wedding band, plain ones look odd with my ring, and my amazing grandmother who has always told me she is leaving her jewellery to me in her will, has asked if I would like the diamonds from two of my great great grandmothers engagement and wedding ring to go in my wedding band.

Blown away. The thought of always carrying a part of my grandmother and grandad with me brought me to tears....

Now all I need to do is double check the jeweller is ok with me supplying the diamonds, which also cuts the cost.

So so happy, and excited about it now!
