If its a gastroscopy, I think it goes up the back - but I was with a patient who was having one and although they can be a bit uncomfortable, they shouldn't be painful :)

My mistake, that's a colonoscopy - it goes down your throat.
I think it still shouldn't be painful but maybe uncomfortable.

It will check if anything is wrong - my ward has loads of them done and the patients have never complained of it being painful.

lemondrops hun,they sedate you before hun,,it might feel slightly uncomfortable when the tube is inserted,but you will be fine,you will have a nurse there right next to you holding your hand and it will be over before you know it x~x~x

I have a funny air reflux thing! I can't burp so I get very load noises of air coming up my throat. I wonder if that is something weird too?

my dad had an endescopy a few years ago now he said its an uncomfortable feeling but didnt hurt and he also said that it was a few years ago and that things have been updated and its a lot better than it used to be xx
