Wedding Forum - We did it :)...

Well we finally tied the knot after 8 years together. The day was perfect but to make it easier to talk about I'm going to break up the day:

Morning of the wedding and bridal prep

My mum and my bridesmaid and me went to wether spoons for breakfast and I managed to keep it all down lol. The nerves hadn't kicked in at all. They dropped me back at mums while they buggered off to the hotel to drop off my bags ready for the night of the wedding, and also collect the flowers on the way home. My other bridesmaid Kirsty arrived with the baby around 11:30 followed by hair and make up at 12. I got my hair done first as mine would have taken the longest and we rotated around through the make up.
Still no nerves... Photographer had arrived by 1:30 and was fabulous at keeping a low profile.



We got to 2:30 and there was still one bridesmaids hair to be done and all of us to get into our dresses. The cars were due at 3:15 so that time became a bit of a blur as it was rushed but we were all done and dressed by 3:20 and cars left by 3:30 which was on time.
I don't have any photos of the cars yet but they are a supplier on here of classic bridal cars in Merseyside. The journey to the registry office was about 20 mins, and my dad was brilliant at keeping the conversation light and off the subject. Talking about the most random subjects! We got to st George's hall and had time for photos outside because I was 10 minutes early! We were then taken in and had the talk with the registrar and checked our details ready for the certificate and it was time to walk in.

My music was spot on after worrying that they wouldn't have the string version of canon in D. I couldn't look at my guests though because my bottle went as soon as I stepped n the room. I managed to keep my cool right up to that point!

I got to the end of the aisle and grabbed hold of his hands. My dad whispered good luck and I remember saying - I'm going to be sick! I was so scared and nervous the registrar asked me if I was ok to continue. The whole thing only lasted 20 mins and that included a reading from our friend. We had the Beatles "here comes the sun" and "eight days a week" for the signing of the register and then walked out to "you're my best friend" by queen. It was brilliant.

We went and had a few photos in the viewing gallery with parents and then photos outside with guests.



We went back to the reception venue and had our blessing which went down really well with everyone. We had a prayer for his nan and it made a few people cry. This was followed by fish and chips for the guests and then the evening guests arrived from 7:30 onwards.

I know it's flown over so quick! The scab underneath us starting to lift and is causing me no end of pain at the moment. I have a hot date with mr radox and mr painkiller tonight :) xx
