Wedding Forum - Lego Bride becomes a Lego Wife :D...

Hi everyone!

Well we've been married for a whole week today! I would have come and written about it sooner but we moved house a week before the wedding (insane I know) and had no internet, plus last night we got a few photographer pictures back so I thought it'd be better to post a thread with pics in, cause lets be fair, everyone is only in it for the pics ;D

So, day before was pretty hectic with my mum and my bridesmaid and I running around getting nails done, I got my hair cut and then rushed off to get HD brows and lash extensions. HD brows are fab by the way, expensive but worth doing, my brows never looked so perfect! Lash extensions looked great but they didn't tell me I'd have to take contacts out so my eyes were sore for the rest of the day and man that glue sticks to the back of your throat, and makes your nose tingle. But anyway I was looking good and that was the important thing!

Slept awful the night before, my phone died during the night and my alarm didn't go off. I set it for half 8 and woke up at 9 panicing, but I was showered and had my hair started before my mum or my bridesmaid showed up.

Now I'ma do this in sections so I'ma start with

BRIDAL PREP

I did both my and my Bridesmaids make up and my mum got room service to bring us champagne and croissants, I was a weird mix of stressing out and perfectly chilled. Doing BM's make up was a nightmare. I'd done a test run before that came out perfect but I was under pressure of time and that was freaking me out a bit! She's a complete make up noob my BM so I had to put her mascara on her as well, it's not easy putting mascara on someone else! I totally poked her in the eye and she got mascara all over her face and I was freaking out trying to clean it up in front of the window so I could make sure she was smudge free! Made for some lovely pictures though! Managed to do my own make up perfectly and photog said she'd never see a bride do her own make up so quick and flawless haha, I guess that kinda makes up for nearly poking my bridesmaids eye out!



THE DRESS

I got my dress off she who must not be named and honestly, I was pretty disappointed with it. If you have a dress from her then check the boning, mine poked out in at least two places and jabbed me all day and night and was really freaking uncomfortable. It also doesn't look very impressive on the hanger lol. I think a big part of why I didn't like the dress as much is because I put on weight even though I was trying to hard to lose it. I felt really frumpy and in some pics look really frumpy too. Also because my mum and BM hadn't put the dress on me before, it didn't look as good as when hubby had put it on me (i auto typed h2b then haha!) I said to my mum and BM "a man is better at putting this dress on than you lot!" and they weren't too impressed! Luckily the photog stepped in and helped out lol. I don't hate the dress or how I looked in it though, it doesn't ruin the pictures for me, I just wasn't in love with it. For some reason too it looks really short and hangs really high off the ground in some pics :S

THE CEREMONY

Honestly went by in a flash, it's true when people tell you the day goes fast but if anyone tells you to try and take as much in as you can, don't even bother trying, that's what you're photographer is for lol. There's so much going on at once you literally don't get time to take it in! We added our own personal unity bit to our ceremony to, we locked together two little heart locks to "lock our vows" the registrar gave us a lock each and we unlocked them with the little key and locked them together, everyone thought it was amazing and kept saying they'd never seen anything like it before. It was a really nice touch and after the ceremony we threw the key in the canal. Oh, and our rings were in a pokéball. Everyone laughed when the best man took it out his pocket <3

OUTSIDE

We had bubbles instead of confetti and it was lovely! Had group photos which I haven't seen yet expect for guest ones, only a few pics here I'm totally overloading lol



ROOM SET UP & OTHER LEGO

Will let the pictures do most of the talking again. Though I will say that after the meal people started taking the lego flowers out the vases and keeping them, which would have been awesome, and it did make me happy people wanted them, but no one bothered to ask me if they could have one. By the end of the night my centre pieces were missing a few flowers from each vase, which means loads of people took them and it really upset me not a single person asked me if they could. Even my mother in law took two of the untouched/mostly untouched vases with flowers in and didn't ask me if it was okay! Not cool. I just focus on the fact people loved them enough they wanted to have one to keep. :) Oh and my bridesmaid made my cake :D



SPEECHES

I'll only put a few speech pictures cause they're probably not that interesting. My brother, who gave me away did the first speech and told everyone how my uncle (who didn't bother coming to the wedding mind) fed me lucozade and jaffa cakes when I was a baby, hence the picture lol. I did a speech next! I was so nervous doing it. I'm extremely shy and have trouble talking to people at the tills to pay for stuff so this was a massive deal for me. I cringe thinking back on it too cause I pretty much winged the whole thing. But I'm glad I did cause it was important to me. And I think everyone else appreciated that too. I mostly just thanked everyone and gave out gifts though. Second pic is me telling everyone how I stalked my husband for months and decided I was going to marry him before I even said hi, haha. Hubby went next and kept it short and sweet, just said how I made him happy and how much he loved me. Bestman went last with this big long speech basically about awesome my hubby is, had almost everyone teary!



CAKE CUTTING

I almost felt bad cutting up my bm's cake lol, there was so much of it too we're still eating some now! We cut a bit out and ate some and someone shouted out "you're not supposed to eat it" I was thinking....duh, what else are we gonna do with it? Whoever it was obviously never been to a wedding where the bride and groom wanted to try their own cake! lol.

Massive props to our photographer she was absolutely awesome! It had also been snowing all week but our wedding day was glorious sunshine and wasn't even that cold! Didn't get to use my heart umbrella lol.

All in all though, amazing day, I was so happy!

Advice for other brides to be- Remember that it really is YOUR day and no one else needs to be catered for or made happy as long as you and h2b are happy. The day is about you and h2b and your love! Spend it together and enjoy the day for you, not just the guests!

Also finally, thank you to everyone here for your helpful advice and opinions this past year or so :D <3
