    hi everyone,

just looking to hear peoples opinions on who they think should organise hen night

i have organised the main part of my hen weekend... where we are going, and activities for day/night etc

and i have decided on where i want to go for my hen night at home..

is that such a bad thing :)

my bridesmaids are cracking up at me..
i have told them i am not going to do any more, rest is up to them :)

i am a bit of a control freak and hate surprises...

have you organised your own hen night or have you left it all the ur bridesmaids?????????????????

i don't think i'm going to have a hen night but if i did i would prob organise it myself because a) most of my close friends are spread out across a few friendship groups so it would be difficult for MOH to know & invite the people that i'd want there. and b) because i am a massive diva and even though they have the best intentions MOH/BM would get something wrong and it'd just trip me out. I don't think it particularly matters tbh hun, everybody is different and do whatever makes you happiest. some brides hate having to organise the hen do themselves but others (like you and i!) hate to relinquish control haha xxx

I've sorted my own out, I wish I hadn't because it proved to be stressful big time. But I've came to the conclusion if people don't enjoy themselves then it's not my problem just because I don't drink and hate clubs etc!!

No I don't think it's weird at all... I'm going to be arranging my own mainly because I want to do things I want to do and not be surprised with things I might not like... I know my friends should do what I like but I'm not into strippers etc so would rather know all what's being involved x

I am organising the quad biking and spa part of the day, letting my MOH sort out meal.

To be honest I didn't want one so putting everything in a day, staying at parents house for night (cos its bigger). I don't like surprises either and plus I hate the tacky bride to be tiara and veils and badges and wily whistles etc etc. I hate all of that, so I am hoping I won't have any of it.

I organised my own, I hate all the tackiness of hen nights like stripers, chocolate willy, blow up dolls ect!!! So I asked everyone not to bring them and they didn't bless them I was worried mind but they were all good although I'm sure a few were bored but I don't care coz it was my night & it was prefect for me!! I really enjoined it!!!! Plus my bm didn't know every1, so that was the main reason y i organised my own, just easier wiv that!!!

My Chief Bridesmaid is organising mine.

All I have said is that I want a say in where we go (it has been decided between us Tenerife) and the fancy dress theme.

Have told her that I dont want a stripper/nakedness. Would feel so silly!

My BM's organised the whole Hen weekend. All I gave them was the guest list and agreed the venues. The rest they wouldn't let me know a thing about .................I didn't even pay a penny all weekend apart from the additional treatments I had during the spa day part. Have to say, I was worried about it but they did an amazing job and it couldn't have been better! I'm a control freak too so found it really hard not being involved but it all worked out perfectly.

Traditionally the BM's are supposed to organise it all.

I organised my own hen. My MOH gave up before even trying.

Would of loved a 'traditional' organised one but hey ho. Noone seemed interested till after i went through so much stress and waste of time over it!!

Apparantly now though shes doing something for the weekend before the wedding... no idea why or how! she let me get so worked up over my original one - which was fun but hey ho! x

I organised my own. I asked a friend to do it and she did nothing so in the end I decided the least stressful thing to do would be to organise it myself, so I planned transport, what we were doing in the day, booked hotel and VIP club tickets for us all. One of my other friends then said that if all the other girls give her £10 each she would arrange t-shirts and surprises for me.

I'm organising my own hen do, my MoH lives 3 hours drive away from where I am, and she has 4 kids to look after one being a baby, so a bit too busy really to be sorting anything else out and the rest of my Bridesmaids are kids so can't really do anything lol. So am doing it myself, and at least I know then that it will be something that I want to do with no hidden surprises. xxx

I've asked my MoH to give me ideas for the hen night, rather then organise it herself, because she couldn't organise a p**** up at a brewery. I would like it if she was more organised so she could plan it herself (providing that she tells me what she is planning) because it would be one less thing for me to plan. I may ask my oldest bridesmaid to help once she's done at University because she knows the area better then my MoH.

I have organised my own hen do as I wanted to plan something I would totally be happy with. I wish now though I hadn't bothered.....see the plan was to have a spa day with my bridesmaids and close friends and family members, had to have minimum of 8 guests to get exclusive use of the facilities for the day. All was fine until last weekend when 3 people dropped out with less than a month to go including my cousin and auntie....I was livid of course, I really don't need the stress at the moment as I've not been well.

What with that the venue also contacted me to say that two other people hadn't paid...turned out the venue had mucked up and lost their forms....all is ok now and sorted but again that gave me reason to stress out, grrrrr.....

I did manage to salvage the situation slightly by using their mistake as bargaining tool, they have offered by of way of compensation exclusive use of the facilities in the morning, then after lunch other quests will be allowed in too...better than nothing I guess plus the 5 of us will still have fun plus a giggle at dinner afterwards.

I just wish after all that palavar that I'd simply arranged dinner in town somewhere with my bridesmaids and friends, would have been so much easier! LOL

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

Oh it is, I've been there before twice on a work day out and really enjoyed it. It won't ruin it in the afternoon with other people there as it's nice and big plenty of room to move around and chill, plus it has a little pool, gym and sauna.

None of my bridesmaids or MOH even asked me about a hen do? I decided to plan it myself, I wanted to go to London for a weekend see a show etc, but reasons with my SIL2B about her not having much money so that got knocked on the head and decided to find something cheaper, we are 20 mins from brighton so we are going there for a meal and out afterwards. now she's saying she might not be able to come? but it was the cheapest thing i could find for us all to be a part of! sometimes i dont know why i bother!

i have booked mine re hotel and mini bus, ( whitby for Goth weekend next April ) plus sorted the invites but then my daughter is doing the rest. She has taken on role as MOH, and is getting an "itineray" planned for the weekend.Think she is actually excited about organising it. I wanted to make sure we could find somewhere to stay and knew if one of the BM did it, it would be nearer to April & then there wouldnt be any chance of finding somewhere to stay as all the hotels would be booked up. When i mentioned the hen weekend to one of my BM, she put on a sad face saying "i would have organised your hen do for you" - ...why didnt she ask ?? one of the other BM said back in Sept last yr she would sort it but havent seen her since as always busy when trying to meet up .... decided would be better off doing my own then at least i know its sorted.
