    Hi all,

H2b is getting quite anxious about his speech...

I really want him to do one, although I have thought about doing it myself, however I don't know why it's just something I really want him to do.
He's not nervous about the whole speaking in public thing particularly, it's just he doesn't know where to start...I've said not to worry about being funny or witty or anything, and I'm trying to help him with a kind of template (he has asked me to do this, I'm not just butting in honest!) that he can use and flesh out etc. so far I have:-

Thank my dad for his speech
thank guests for coming - mention that we know people have travelled far, taking time off work etc
Thank both families and hand out gifts to his mam and my mam
Say nice things about me (lol)
    Propose toast to the bridesmaids
Introduce best man and handover for best mans speech

Is that all he needs to say? what have I missed? Xx

I forgot about speeches Usually The Groom Father of The Bride/Groom is the bride required to make a speech ?? I can imagine getting nervous being in front of everyone but its everyone I want to be their everyone I Love so It should just flow but I need to learn to take a deep breathe and speak slowly and clearly and not 110 miles per hour as my dad says I speak at Start of nice and slow end up going so fast he doesn't understand a word I just said Lool and apparently I don't take breathes when I talk either
I think H2B will get very nervous as he does not like being center of attention or put on the spot so we shall see what hes like and what he says =D ♥ X

I think it's normally father of bride, groom and best man, however I know a lot of people have broken away from tradition...

Yeah, we both hate overlong speeches - went to one last year when they went on for an hour and a half...it was just too long! Xx

An hour and a half - that's terrible. I thought the 45 min best mans speech I had to endure was bad.

It was terrible - I need the loo and had an empty glass for about half of it! We are hoping to keep the speeches to fifteen twenty minutes for all three of them - might have to word my dad a bit though as I can see him rambling on! Xx

You should get someone to play music like they do at the oscars or a nice big hook
