I was just wondering for those of you who had a non-religious ceremony, how long it took ? We have a bit of a tight squeeze time wise and g.oogle seems to come up with anywhere from 15mins - 1hour and 15 mins :-/

Please help as I'm in a bit of a tizz about it lol.. xx

Ah good.. My brother is doing a reading for us, but it's not very long.. I need it no longer than 30mins ideally ! I'm even going to arrive early to the venue !!! Totally breaking 'bride is late' tradition lol.. I really really want to go and have pictures where Nicky proposed which is 20mins away from our venue.. Don't want to leave the guests mingling for too long... Going to have the ceremony, do group pics hopefully within 45mins and then nip to Lincoln while the guests get free drinks and canapes ! Back by 5pm hopefully !! xx

Georgi, Just to give you a bit of advice. Try not to be too hung up on your schedule - things will happen/not happen on the day which you cannot control. x

Thank you for the advice MrsWright.. I am trying not to be, but those few pics are so so so important to me, but I don't want my family moaning like they did at my cousins 1st wedding because the wedding party went off somewhere else for pictures... They were going nearly 2 and half hours and we'll only be gone about 1 hour but I still worry :-/ I have that 'Please everyone' syndrome !!

Haha Mon ! I'm looking forward to the official bit :-) But looking forward to the photos and dancing the most hehe.. Oh and the fact I will officially be able to call Nicky my husband :-) xx

We had a civil ceremony including two readings and it was about 35-40 minutes ... mostly becuase there were so many people wanting to take a photo of us with the register, also the photographer wanted shots of us with the MOH & Best Man too ... you could always make sure that you ask people to be quick at this point xx

As long as there is something for them to do while you are gone, then they have no reason to complain. Afterall you should be able to do what you want - It's your day! x

I'll tell my brother to read his thing quickly then !! Haha :-)

The thing I am worried about mostly is people moaning about us nipping off.. Hoping the free drink and canapes will keep them sweet for an hour ish :-)

Oh goodness Nicola ! Are you having lots of readings or something xx

Ah cool :-) Thanks glitterfairy !

Nicky's refusing to do our own vows at the moment anyway as he'll have nothing left to say for his speech if we do that apparently haha.. So that will shorten it !! I might just have to be one of those brides that makes a speech as well lol xx

Sita - I don't mind enough to moan or be annoyed that he doesn't want to do it.. Just thought it'd be nice to have something personal rather than just the formalities.. I'll prob have cried through it and not been able to finish anyway haha xxx
