Wedding Forum - Searching now for a new photographer...

Hi everyone,

After yesterdays disaster with our engagement photos and after speaking with my parents we have decided to try and find a new photographer to take our wedding photos. We feel that our booked photographer has let us down not only over the misleading hidden costs of the engagement pics but also the quailty and standard of these pics we felt werent up to scratch. Also he didnt take into account my disability when it came to posing for the pics at the time as I had to kneel down on a hard floor which made my muscles at the back of my thighs contract and spasm and caused me to be in considerable pain.

So I have now been searching online for a replacement for him and so far have found 4 others but will have to wait and hear back by email whether any of them are free on our wedding date at this late stage. So keep your fingers crossed for me please.

Thanks, found another 2 more so have emailed them too,I think the more I contact the better chance I will have of finding a replacement. It means we will loose our deposit for the original photographer but if he is as bad as he was yesterday regarding the engagement photos I really dont trust him enough to do a good job on our day. x

We know of a couple that friends have used for their weddings so have contacted them so hopefully someone will be free,think ive contacted 10 now lol! x

Good luck! Just make sure you are comfortable with them. You don't want to feel uncomfortable on the day. My brother actually asked their's to leave during the reception because they found they were intruding on their enjoyment of the evening!

Woop whoooo I have 2 replies so far and both are available, one due to a recent cancellation and the other as he is the 2nd photographer for that day so can find a replacement for himself and do our wedding photographer as main one instead. So 2 possibilities so far, never thought anyone else would be available at this short notice. x

excellent!!!!!!sounds bad about the original photographer, but now you may get to get the photographer of your dreams!!!!!!keep positive!!

cheers girls, have had one more reply since last spoke so have 3 possibilites now that I will phone tomorrow to arrange to meet. Hoping my present photographer will get back to me tomorrow and give me a refund on the engagement pic and then I can tell him he is no longer needed. x

Yes Possum I received an email back earlier today from my photographer and he is going to give me a refund of the £180 for the engagement pic and will still give me a smaller version 6x8 pic for free as per agreement. He said that we should have been told that it was only the small pic we would receive as a complimentary one, that we shouldnt be charged for the shoot and that as they havent ordered the enlargement yet, that he can honour a refund. He hasnt apologised as yet for not informing us about the hidden costs, or for how he spoke to me at the engagement shoot or explained why his quaility of pics taken were substandard.

At least though I wont have to go without food today and tomorrow now if we get the refund back into my account today. And I will continue to look for a better photographer and then inform him that we no longer require him. Keep checking my account now to see if the refund is in but isnt yet. x
