My and my H2B went wedding ring scouting at the weekend, only to be disappointed by the choices and prices! I would like a platinum band to match my engagement ring. My engagement ring is in a twist claw, so I'd need either a wishbone or twist style band - but I would like some detail on the band, either a pattern or maybe some small stones.
According to the high street I need to fork out £1,200! This is out of my budget :-(
Does anyone no any good/trustworthy bespoke websites that will do what I need for half the high st price, or any jewellers in Berkshire?
Thank H xx

try going to the independant jewellers they can really save you pennies
i got mine from a high street jeweller and they cost me £400 for the pair and my band has small diamonds in it, we also got discount because we bought my engagement ring from there

Thanks Mrs Mann,
I tried the independant jewellers here in Reading, but they were the worse offenders for high prices.
I'll have to try looking at jewellers when I visit family back up north to see if they're any better.

How easily can you get to London? I can highly recommend the place that we got our rings from. I had a similar problem with my e-ring but didn't like the traditional wishbone shape and wanted more of a curved finish and with some diamonds in too. Let me know if you want the details babe x

Little Kettle,
If you could send me the details of your jeweller that would be great. I can get to London easily.
Details popped on your wall babe. Just to say that they really won't rip you off. They held the previous years' prices for us despite the prices going up the year we actually got them, because we'd already picked them out the year before the prices went up. They also issued our insurance certificate with the value on the day we picked them up and they were valued at about 2/3 more than we actually paid. Janine is lovely, btw. Good luck! x

The lowest quote I got on the high street was £900 to have a plain ring shaped around my e ring. Got smooch round and they quoted less than half that, plus you can pay monthly interest free x

I've been quoted about £900 for a platinum and diamond custom-made band from a company in Hatton Garden, so would def recommend visiting a few in Hatton Garden, you should save a fair bit.

Try the Jewelerry Quarter in Birmingham.... i found them really cheap as going direct to the goldsmiths and not through a sales agent. They were half the price that Sm00ch quoted me too for the same shaped ring.

Hi,
You can get some really good deals when you but them in pairs from high street jewelers.
I'm planning on going to the Jewelery Quarter and getting one made as my engagement ring has a slight twist in it and I can't find anything in the high street that fits with it!!
millz090 - did you make appointments to discuss your rings?

Hi there! Hope everything is going smoothly with planning, I know it can get a little stressful, and I've only been engaged for 4 months!
So far, I have been on visits for potential wedding venues and the most recent "tick off the to do list" was to sort out the wedding bands, this is because we were planning to fly out to HK to get mine & H2B out there as there aren't many styles to pick from. However, we went to Aurus in Farringdon on Clerkenwell Road (London,UK) and they were amazing. The service and most importantly the hugeee range of styles to choose from. Depending on metal, prices range and you can actually find rings that suit your budget!! We've ordered our rings and now I cannot wait for it to arrive. We also opted to use their engraving service too!
Anyways, I cannot explain my happiness of finding convenience whilst planning my BIG DAY!!
