I'm looking for advice.... I'm wanting a low heeled pair of peep toe shoes, ivory, satin, between 1-2 inches ideally. I can walk in heels, and I do wear heels, but I don't want to be tall and near partners height on wedding day. Nt planning on having a second pair to change into and ruining my dress either.

I'm struggling to find shoes I like, and don't know if I can justify spending money on the ones I do like.

    So I've looked online at...

Paradox, etsy (Paris Xox), elegant steps, benjamin Adams, rainbow club, perditas, debenhams, next.

The shoes I like look wise all have high heels that I don't want.

Some shoes from Emmy, and freya rose I love, but they are very bridal. Expensive and I possibly wouldn't wear them again, no mentioning of being dyable afterwards.

Issues with all of these is that I live in bristol, not many shops have much stock,I.e they are mainly bought online, and I can't afford to buy 10 pairs from various retailers, that I think look ok to try on.

I love jimmy choos Bergen, but at £375 whilst ill definatly wear them over and over, it's a lot of money.

I haven't looked to much on the high street as everything's online..... What happened to buying things in a good old shop.

    Grrrr

Girls how important are your shoes, what would you pay, and are you having similar issues?

Any other suggestions on where to look, would be welcomed

well im having a pair of ballet flat shoe as im taller then my h2b plus i cant walk in heels.my shoe is very important to me an i bought them first. i paid nearly 100 for them but they are a gothic make called Iron fist.

again i can only buy mine online so i just have to take the chance with them but i would prefer to buy in a shop.

I think it just depends on how much you like shoes in everyday life?? If you're not a big shoe fan anyway, then wedding shoes won't be that important to you. I'm not an absolute shoe fanatic, but I am a sucker for a sexy pair of heels! I'm getting some Louby's (pics in my album) just because I've ALWAYS wanted a pair since I've known about them! xx

I've got some Iron Fist heels, the heel is like a corset with a bow at the top, love them! xx

I love shoes!!! But mine funnily enough came from next and were in the sale for £14 (my mum bought them) and I love them! They are ivory lace with a 4/5 inch heel. Shoes are important to me but I wouldnt spend a bomb on them! Have you looked at barratts, ebay, amazon? xx

It was important for me to have leather shoes, as i have quite wide feet :-/ and i can't stand the fabric or plastic material shoes.

I found my shoes in a charity shop for £3 when i was looking for my sister's wedding to be her bridesmaid. They're a nice height, two inch heel, so i still look feminine. At 5ft 7" again this was important not to tower over everyone and be as tall as the blokes, plus these shoes i've worn throughout my sisters wedding and had no problems so they're already trialed and tested!!

It wasnt mega important to me as actually no one will see my feet as got a long dress and couldnt justify lots of money on a white/cream pair of shoes that i would once. So i found mine, sound similar to yours, red peep toe with 2 inch heel from N$xt in the Sale but bright red and love them and will wear them again..... do they have to be white? Have you tried BHS? xxx

I've figured out the shoes I want from the dress I got, I'm not a big shoe person, so once I had the dress and the loook I wanted I've been able to figure out how big a heel to get and the style I want. What I've been looing at so far is in the £30 - £45, which considering it is for the wedding I'm thinking is pretty good as all wedding things sem to cost lots of money

I'm not worrying too much about the shoes as my dress will be down to the floor. I want flat white ones, and the ones from BHS that I wore as a bridesmaid at my brother's wedding are perfect, so I'm not planning on buying any others.

My had to be flat, so reserved myself to a flat pair :(. They were £9 from the bay & they're pretty nice, I will buy a shoe clip though just to give them the wedding edge.

Until recently when I thought it would be cool to have a 'something blue' bright pair of peep toe heels. So I know also have those to, wll maybe use them for pics & reception xx

I'm wearing a knee-length dress and I had my heart set on some purple heels, but couldn't find any I liked - I even had to rope in the girls at work one lunch for an online hunt! But then my luck changed and I went onto House of Fraser on a whim and found a pair at the right height and right colour. Ordered them, they arrived and they fitted perfectly! Plus they only cost £50! x

My shoes were VERY important to me; I have always had a huge thing for shoes (bought my first pair of heels at 10 lol, and my first pair of Jimmy Choos at 16), and have quite a few designer pairs. I've always said that the Gina Campari shoe would be my wedding shoes, and they were my first wedding purchase; I bought them shortly after getting engaged, even before I had the dress lol. I also have a pair of low-heeled peep-toe Choos. I'm wearing the Choos for the ceremony, and the higher heeled Ginas for dancing in the evening.

In total, they cost £600; and that was with a £200 discount on the Ginas :-0 But, unlike the dress, I'll be able to wear them again and again after the wedding, and will have them for years to come; so I don't think it's an awful lot to spend.

I have two pairs of shoes both costing £75 each
One pair are cobolt blue and sparkley with a 5 inch heel that will be for my something blue
and my other pair are ivory with a vintage feel to them which have a 3 inch heel for the reception (see the thread "show off your shoes" to see pictures).
Shoes are only as important as you make them
