Well Mum was saying usuallly you have the bride and groom then the bridesmaids one side an the ushers the other side. That is fine except my cousins are bridesmaids and their 4 children are coming 2 are flower girls and 2 are page boys so where would they sit if their mum is with the bridesmaids?
what do we do?
thanks x

You can have whoever you want on the top table. Some people are steering away from the traditional one especially if parents are divorced. As we have 7 kids between us, our top table consisted of us two and them instead of the usual.

We had a table with me, my hubby, our best man and my grandad. Basically all of us doing speeches. Our Bm's and MOH sat on the main tables with their friends/husbands.
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a
Wright wedding!
Mexico for our first anniversary <3
It's completely up to you! We had our parents of both sides, best man & heads bridesmaid xx

Its up to you, we are not going with tradition and only our parents are sitting with us as we wanted the best man etc to sit with their partners. x x

My bridesmaid is the mother of my flower girl and page boy so they are all sitting on the closest table to the top table, then I am having me, h2b, best man, my mum and step dad, his dad and step mum and his mum (the last two are either end of the table so there is a good distance between them!!)

At the moment we're having bride/groom and our 3 children on the top table Moh, BM and parents will be sat at a table close by as to put the parents on the top table would get too complicated as OH only has his mom whereas I have mom, dad, step mom and step dad

Like amy, we are not going for tradition (space doesnt really allow it) so we are having bride, groom, our 3 kids who are bridesmaid and pageboys and our parents. Thinhs like this are a lot more relaxed now than they used to be and there isnt any set rules :) xx

I think traditionally it is bride, groom, both sets of parents, maid of honour and best man. But you can do it however you like, there's no rule

We'll be having the traditional set up, but in all honestly, it's completely up to you.
I went to one wedding, where the top table was the bride, groom, the two bridesmaids, the best man and the three ushers. The couple's parents were sitting with family.

Traditionally it's best man, grooms father, brides mum, groom, bride, brides father, grooms mum, moh or chief bridesmaid but it's difficult for us as my mum n dad are split and my mum has a new partner and my dad isn't with anyone yet so we're toying with
Grooms mum and dad, groom, bride, my dad (and partner if he has one)my mum and partner, my moh is already married so will be better off sat with her hubby and we can sit best man with grooms mates x

We're going with the two best men and the two matrons of honour plus both sets of parents. We'd love to have siblings as well, but then the table gets a bit too long. The other bridesmaids and the ushers will sit with their families, but we'll try to put them on tables near the top. My H2Bs sister is a bridesmaid and his brother one of the best men, while my two brothers are ushers.
30th August 2014 was the best birthday ever.
It was the day that I became Mrs. Dixon.

Its only as complicated as you let it.... we have divorced parents who wont sit together to instead having a round table in the middle of everyone else with me, hubby, best man and 3 bridesmaids. This also means our table will be quite fun and relaxed xxx
Finally marrying the love of my life !!
10th August 2013 - 9 years to the day we met !

I think in our generation with many divorced/separated/remarried parents it's completely usual to have all sorts of combinations at the top table. Our wedding has only 46 guests in total so although I'd love a top table filled with the whole bridal party I fear the room would be all top table and hardly any guests - so we are going with 6 (best man, both mums, 1 step dad and us) on top table so that we can spread out everyone else to fill the room up. So do what fits with you and your wedding x
CommentAuthorvodkachick
we been thinking about this one too......my H2B parents are both dead so up to now we got bride, groom, bride parents, best man and matron of honour(who are married to each other)
my girls are bridesmaids and his kids are both ushers.....do we have my eldest and his eldest on the top table or do we put them on tables next to the top table??????????
