Hello, I am going to make my own invitations and wondered if anyone had any advice on where to get the materials for the invites for a bargain price, and any ideas about what sort of invites look best?

Hi Chanelp, I made mine this weekend. I just collected bits as I went. You can get the actual cards from places like The Works, but in the end I got mine from Hobbycraft. I bought coloured paper to use from HC too, and WHSmith. I bought a Stamp from ebay, 'borrowed' paper from MIL2B's work, card from rymans stationary and borrowed BIL's printer to print everything!

In total I did end up spending more than I'd hoped but I have more than enough left for place settings, table plan, thank you cards (though I need more cards!) and some decorations I'm working on. I think I spent a total of £70.

What you can do is buy things a bit at a time, like a pack of card or paper etc. each month. That way you barely even need to budget for it, if you can put it in with your weekly shop, or just when you're in town. xx

Well ChanelP Im soon going to be making mine and I have jst stuck with my wedding theme they will be green and blue and will have a green rose and one blue rose with a aqua beads crown as our wedding theme is Emerald Queen & Sapphire King But I am going to draw on the roses and hopefully glue on a aquabead ccrown to complete our Wedding logo Im getting my card making kit from Argos is is a kids set but I can sue it properly and come swith 500 cards that should be more than enough for me also ordered rhinestones from Amazon to put on the top of the and on the flowers have chosen Old English as our font cannot wait to do my prototypes =D ♥ X Good Luck =D

ChanelP whats your wedding theme?? can you incorporate it with your wedding stationary because I would like our wedding logo to be in the center pieces also on name cards save the date personalized napkins whats your colors scheme?? I could put on your wall the 500 card kit I'm after only a 310 i think its well good but it is for kids and if used in the right hands you can create wonders with the kit =D ♥ X

I bought an embossing machine from a craft shop, lots of sparkly, glittery card & then some stencils & will make the patterned card myself & also got some different shaped hole punchers (hearts, flowers etc) so you can get different card & stick them on etc etc, if that makes any sense lol xx

Thanks, Like I said though they did take a lot of time! So pleased with them though, all of them are different because of the mini bunting, and I've had loads of positive comments from people who have received them already!

Look at PDA craft, got some good bargains on there plus they do any size, colour, material card you could want. Plus the more you buy the cheaper it works out and they have good delivery and customer service.

Chanelip I did mine, bought all my card from ******************** they are an American site, but very cheap, and lots of colour card choice, and you can get it custom cut to size. I also used lace and pearl beading I got from ************************* again another good place. I don't know how to add pictures to this post, but If you look at my wall you can see what I created. Good luck, and have fun doing it!
