Wedding Forum - What do you think your H2B should be in...

Well of course ladies we are in charge of it 100% but we gotta give our OH something to do other wise he'll be bored or be like you didn't let me choose anything or get my opinion on anything to do with Our Wedding Its not just your big day its both so this are what i think our H2B should be on charge off:
*His attire & Groomsmen attire
*Food Because He Cooks More Than Me (Well I don't cook when he is around)
*Drinks
*Gets to choose his own Wedding ring
*Button holes (maybe)
*Cuff Links
*Music
*DJ
(I LOVE CAKE HE WILL HELP PICK!!!)
*Stag Do (Best Man)

Have I Missed Anything?

Nothing lol..the arguments we've had lately I just wish he was laid back now!

He's got a say in everything, but so far he's ran with all my ideas even put his foot down and said we're having X venue or else haha. We're ready to book now and finally start getting somewhere, so I think he's goign to take an even more active interest. Groomzilla incoming. There was a thread not too long ago about allowing the groom to pick the first dance song, when I initially read it, I fist though no fecking way, but now I've told him he can pick without my input lol. Could be a risky move. But ultimately, I want him to have a say in everything, I wouldn't like it if he wanted something I hated and insisted on it, or else, and I won't do the same to him

H2B has to have a say on everything (apart from the decoration, as he admits he couldn't really care less if we have bunting or 'other dangly things'). We sat down with a list of things to do, he took the stuff he knew he could sort, but always checks with me before finalising things, I took some of the list and the rest we're done together.

I have ended up doing more, but part of that is because I wanted to, and partly as anything to do with design just isn't his thing, he doesn't understand the whole coordination thing. However, if I felt that he was leaving things to me then I'd throw my toys out of the pram.

I've checked h2b list, he has to:
- liaise with the minister to sort out our visits
- order the ties
- source and order the favours
- find and order pinks socks for the males in the wedding party
- sort the guests with appropriate accommodation
- Buy the sweets for the sweet buffet
- Organise the ushers
- Plan his stag do
- Buy gifts for his half of the party
- Buy a suit
- Find me my shoes - he loves to shop, I don't and I've had enough of looking!!

ive tried to give h2b a job, but hes not doing it, think i should fire him lol

My h2b has had a say in everything so far .. actually, except the venue! Me & one of my BM's went to view it & I put down the deposit before he'd even seen it! He said all he wants a say in are the suits, the music & the colours & the rest he's leaving up to me but he WILL get some jobs to do whether he likes it or not! Lol x

Glitterfairy don't you feel happy that he asked you to help because in another thread one of the brides does not want him to have the outfit he has his heart set on because she doesnt think it will fit in with her color scheme which is fair enough he may stand out but isnt that good if the pair of you stand out as it is both of your weddings
Kel Bel getting anything out of your H2B can be a mission as sometimes you feel like your talking to a brick wall at least your H2B is involved :)

Velcro trying to pick any music for our wedding is going to be the biggest mission ever as we have such different tastes in music i have not got the song i walk down the aisle too or the one we walk down as husband and wife let alone our first dance song Ill get there one day got 3 yrs =D
Poppy you sound like me I have so many ideas but sometimes I think my head is in th clouds i think of the idea part but I do not follow throught to think of the design stage the finished product/idea

mym72 I get your point Im going to try get my H2B more involved but he keeps saying that Im in charge of the rest I can do it he has his little list to do Ill have to wait and see =D
Siany give him a long list of things to do only fair I choose the Venue too H2B just agreed with me as Im not going to get married any where else =D
I think my H2B will get more involved in everything closer to the wedding and have a say and opinion on everything but till then its still early days in his eyes n mind its forever till the wedding =D <3 X

my h2b is invovled with a lot more wedding planning than people think, he chose the venues, i think said yes. He is choosing his suits. we both chose the bmaid dresses, flowers, invites, table decorations, centre pieces, flower girl dress, the theme, colour scheme. He chose my underwear lol...

Give him time :D he will soon get excited and more involved. But give him the choice on things, like you said you have a while togo yet till the proper excitement kicks in :d

The only thing me and my H2B have agreed on so far is the venue!! We have completely different ideas on what we want for everything else and I know its driving him nuts that he can't be involved in choosing my wedding dress - though I do wind him up by cutting out really ugly ones and putting them in the scrapbook lol.
Our wedding will def be a team effort though and there is no way he would be left out of any part of it :-)

StephanieM71 I wont leave the H2B out of the wedding planning he has no chance when its gets to yr away or 10 months away Im going to be on his back =D and your H2B don't get a say in your dress that is soley your pick isnt it?? he gets to choose his attire for the day and so d you fair is fair =D <3 X

Stephanie, i was the same with my dress :d but then he seen a dress with a bit of detail on & he said he didnt like it and said it looked tacky!
luckily he then seen my dress in a magazine and said he really liked it, after that i stopped cuttin pics out lol

Velcro - nothing wrong with German metal lol. We're lucky as well as we tend to have the same taste in music - even though he did used to like the dance/rave thing years ago (luckily before I met him lol) whereas I'm definitely a metaller lol.

H2B is also going to be in charge of
* sorting me out some sexxy lingerie ;)
* he can help me pick my shoes and I will help him pick his
*H2B has already got me my wedding jewellery as he has bought me a emerald necklace and emerald earrings to go with my emerald engagement ring just need a bracelet or two plus another set of emerald earrings =D
*Tye dye green n blue socks normal socks
will be adding more tasks for my H2B to do =D <3 X

H2b wants to pick own suits which is fine but I must admit I will be double checking what he picks lol x x

He will fond it really funny to have a yellow and blue suit hense y i will be contacting shop and making very clear of what i want him to have lol x x x

I shouldn't be surprised but my fiance and I have literally planned everything together, apart from me and my girls' outfits, and him and his suits. We work so well as a team that we just carried on doing the same for the wedding. Didn't realise he would be into the flowers even! Very pleased and just reaffirmed what I already knew and that we're perfect for each other. Can't wait to get married in 2 weeks! :) x

We've decided everything between us, even took him when I found my dress.
Its been lovely so far.....

I think its more he doesn't trust my judgement lol

GC2B your H2B was even there when you got your dress you didn't want to keep it a surprise for him to see you in your wedding dress on the day 1st time looking like a queen My H2B not aloud to see me in my dress let alone see my dress till our wedding he Knows what style I kind of want and the color so I let some little details slip so he knows some things about my dress =D Kel Bel sometimes you cannot win you get brides like me complaining that our H2B wont do what was asked of him or get more interested or involved then like you he has an opinion about everything sounds like you have a mission ahead of you like me I don't think H2B and I will ever agee on our music yet but I have 3 years to decide and hopefully as we get closer to the date he will get more involved and get wedding planning with me =D <3 X

KelBel I was wondering the same thing lol - we are trying to get a new bed atm and we can't even do that as we have different taste in everything, opposites attract until wedding planning (or decorating!!) But I'm sure we will work something out, least we have time on our side :-)

So true LauraJo87 couples are not always going to agree on everything they will have the disagreements and there arguments just the way it goes I do not think that I would find any couple out there who do not argue or have disagreements =D <3 X
