Do you want to make your vows in front of God? If so marry in church. If not in the hotel.

Church is traditional and looks good on the pics

At the hotel/venue = convenient, no travelling inbetween for guests, you can personalise the ceremony more than you can in church

I had the full blown church ceremony for my first wedding but obviously it didnt work. So much for taking my vows in God's house!
This time, its a civil ceremony at the hotel we are having our reception in... the ceremony room is complimentary! WHOOOO HOOOO!!!

Neither of us are christened, so as I understand the rules, we couldn't have chosen to get married in a church anyway. But we didn't want to, as we're not religious, so we're getting married in a beautiful country house in Yorkshire.

i would love a church wedding, but if it cannot be, i am sure we will have just as beautiful a service at a hotel, as long as the main people are there, thats what makes a wedding special x

If you go to church/believe in God then you can marry in a church if you want.
Personally I hate it when people get married at a church because it's pretty. It's offensive and hypocritical. Don't want to offend anyone by saying that!
I think it is different if one half is religious and the other isn't, but if both aren't, then its not right.
Venue weddings can be every bit as nice!
I'm having a hotel wedding too xx

We're getting married in a Church because:

    a) It's in the garden
    b) It's in the garden

    Is that the wrong answer?!?

If you told a vicar your not religious they'd probably refuse to marry you so you'd have to pretend in which case your wedding would pretty much be a lie...
but i still think churches are pretty!
