    Hey ladies...

Just wondering what age did you put your little en in their own room? Or what age would you?

My little en is 8 months in 18 days and shes still in our room...were I like her! But OH and MIL are on my case about putting her in her own room :/
I dont feel ready for that seperation and ive litterally been putting it off for about 2 months! And OH knows it :/ been distracting him with other jobs so he doesnt finish her room (naughty me!)
I think Ill be lost without her in our room....and she still wakes up about 3-4 times a night so itll be abit of a pain going into another room...
I know it needs to happen tho before she becomes too attached to being in our room...

A friend of ours thinks its weird shes still in our room because her little en was in her own room at 3 months old! And alot of my friends put their babies in their own rooms at about 5 months old....Am I the only one who wants their baby in their room? lol x

My first daughter slept in the same room as me until she was 5 but that was out of necessity however she slept through from 9 weeks.
My younger daughter(now 7) went into her own room at 10 weeks as she was keeping me awake!Until this she was waking up in the night for a feed;or was she? I would look at her and see that she was awake so feed her? From the day i moved her she never had another night feed and slept through from 7pm-7am! I can only conclude that i was waking her up lol(might be something to think about if she is still getting you up 3-4 times a night) xxx

Its not unusual for some people to have them in their rooms until they are ready to go in a toddler bed, however we moved our little lady out on HV suggestion at 6 months as she was still waking 3-4 times a night. She still does, now I just have to navigate my way down the hall way to her instead.

Your her mum, do what makes you feel happy, but don't let it affect yours and H2B relationship.

I think it's easier when they are younger.

A friend of mine had hers in her room until about three and a half, and it was a nightmare trying to get her to sleep in her 'own' room as she just didn't have any concept of 'her' room...as far as she was concerned, 'her' room was mummy and daddy's room. A year on, she is still waking up in the night and getting into mummy's and daddy's bed.

That said, as gc2b said, you're her mum and have to do what you think is the right thing.

    Xx

My little girl is nearly 4 months now...she still sleeps in our room in the moses basket, she is a very good sleeper and has slept through the night since she was 6 weeks old. I have tried her in her cot a few nights and she still sleeps through...its me that can't sleep as I know she's not next to me and I'm always waking up to check on her. But in the end its only you that can decide and you will know when your ready to put her in her own room. x

Mine was in her own room almost straight away, i was at my mums for the first 3 months, and after about a month, the moses basket was in the spare room with the monitor lol, then when I moved she was in a cot in her own room, and she was completely fine with it

This is probably an unpopular view, but I cant abide children in the same bed as me. She has her own room, and my room is my space, so she's not even allowed in at all really. Its just my one room thats just mine and the boy's. He had his little girl in with us once, told him that theres no way that is carrying on. I think its because my mum was the same as me. my room was MY room, hers was hers, and obviously its not like the door is barred or anything extreme like that hahaha, its just my little bit of a boundary. She slept in the bed with me once so far (shes 7 now) and thats because the cat was in heat meowing all night and kept her awake lol, i tried kicking her out of bed but she was having none of it hahaha!

Good luck with it MissA-2-B, let us know how you get on.
I don't like having our baby in bed with us. I never sleep afraid I'll squash her so we avoid that.

Oh god know, i cant be doing with it haha! She does it at my mums, who has clearly mellowed in her old age, but she wouldnt dare get up at 7am and come climb in with me, she'd get told to do one back to her own bed haha!

All that wriggling about does my head in as well!

Im about as maternal as a twig i am

Can't properly remember exactly when my son got his own room (he's nearly 19 now though lol) - but he did keep waking up during the night when he was in with us. He tended to sleep light, so every little noise disturbed him (even us opening the door to go to bed lol).

Once he got his own room though, he slept through most nights and got into a proper routine. It could be that your daughter is being disturbed by surrounding noise being in your room MissA-2-B (just like adults if their partners snore or breathe heavy lol).

If I were you I'd give it a try - after all if it doesn't work you can always bring her back in with you for a while longer.

Well Ladies she went in her own room on friday!!

I cried lol...was doing well until the oh said "its so empty in here now" then the tears came! haha And even when I calmed myself down-as i know it had to happen eventually and she was only next door and i needed to get a grip the tears still came...even tho I was rather calm. Then after checking on her a couple of times....ok 20 or so lol, I just got used to it.

First night was ok got up about 3 times (the norm).
Saturday was really quite bad :S She was awake with OH until 5am!! Dropped in and out of sleep for about 30 min then second she was put down she was awake! Oh ended up falling asleep next to her cot on the floor at 5.
Then last night she only got up once! :) - Hopefully the start of something good! :)

Thankyou for the encourangement and help ladies! :) X
