As some of you may know I'm planning our engagement party but along with that we want an engagement photoshoot to. However I'm totally lost on it. What is it like? What do I have to do? Where will it be at? I'm just totally lost and need all the input I can get.
Please help me laides as I know how great you all are at helping. Thanks in advance.

I've not had mine yet, am hopefully having it over xmas. But normally it is up to you and h2b where you want it (unless photographer has some ideas that you prefer) so you can decide what type of photographs you want. All they will do is pose you or take some natural shots if that is what you prefer :) xxx

Hello ButtonBoo Im having my engagement shoot this Saturday i woul suggest you have your engagement shoot before your engagement party or during. My engagement shoot is going to be in a park with lots of greener surrounding me as i am the Green Queen The Emerald Queen My Engagement Shoot is int tune with my Wedding Theme Emerald Queen & Sapphire King. so you could alsohave your engagement shoot tie in with your wedding theme as i would like my engagement shoot picture to be either with my invitations or on my save the date card. If it was where we first met it would be in the maib street of my hometown as he "kidnapped" me for a week when we got to know eachother. So somehow I think the where we first met is outbof the question. We also don't really have a meaningful place to us so I wouldn't know where to begin with that one. Our wedding theme is buttons in summer pastels and our engagement theme is a mad hatters tea party (we are having a photographer there too - a uni student who I went to college with).

Buttons and summer pastels maybe what you can do is go to your photographers studio and bring fabric in summer pastel colors and lots of colorful buttons and dress up the studio so you can have buttons and summer pastel fabrics put ina artistic setting a nice back drop for you and your hubby to be to stand and pose naturally lots of smiling and laughing enjoying yourself . or Combine the two together themes together the buttons and summer pastels and you mad hatter tea party for your engagement shoot up too hope this is helpfull =:-D ♥X

I have a few ideas running through my head now, thanks to you both ladies.
Another question I have is how do I know a photographer is right for me. I'm very picky wheb it comes to photos as I love to take them myself (a major hobby of mine) and obvs. trust the person I have asked to do the photos at the party as he became like a brother to me while I was at college and we have the aame eye on things if that makes sense.

Look throuhg the work they have already done and see what you think of it is the first step. When you have found one with a style you like then have a meeting with them and see what they are like as a person and whether or not you feel comfortable around them. If you do then great, book the shoot, but if not then have a look at someone else until you find one that you can gel with :) xxx

You will know if the photographer is right for you ask to see there portfolios see there previous work and see if you like there photography or maybe what you should also do is email the photographer before hand tell them what you want and see if they come up with other ideas that match your vision they have to bring your vision to life and yes it does help if the photographer has the same eye on things that you have. ♥X

you tell them where you want it and its a chance to meet your photographer and for him to get to know you and your H2B. we had pictures taken at kirkstall abbey as its where we had one of our first dates and we got some fab pics he just wanted us to stand there and took pictures he did give us some instruction at times but its mainly just to get to know you both and see what you want from your wedding photos
