I was wondering what everyone is doing during the wedding breakfast - are you having music? If so how? I went to a wedding where a string quartet played for thr duration of it but our budget is a bit too tight for something like that and the room is possbily a bit to tight too. I thought of making a cd of background music but I wasn't sure what sort of thing to put on it?
What is everyone else doing?

I'm not having a breakfast - just a Reception - but I am going to burn some mix CD's...
I am having lots of fun rock and roll music but I suppose it depends on your theme. Acoustic guitarists are good for more formal weddings in my experience - depending on where you're from, I have the number / business card of a guy near Stoke-On-Trent - and he is fairly cheap because you're only paying the one person. Got a 10% discount card too. I'm sure he will send you a demo / audition for you if you wish.

I'm the same hun, I really want some nice classical music whilst we're eating during the wedding breakfast but budget won't stretch to it so I'm considering having a CD of nice background music to have on. Was thinking some relaxing piano, strings and harp music, I think there are plenty of CD's out there that have suitable music. It's kinda piano lounge, posh afternoon tea in fancy hotels type background music. xxx

This is a really good point I hadn't thought of this. Just thought there would be enough noise with the chatter of everyone!
My friend who is in a quartet is playing for me :) they're doing some classical bits but they're alo doing some quite modern stuff, can't wait to hear them :) x

The live lounge CDs are always good for this sort of thing. Went to a company meal once where they played them in the background.

We are having a CD, just cause it's cheap and cheerful really. I can post the music on your wall if you would like? x

That's the sort of thing I'm after, too!
If budget stretches we might have a violinist (h2b really wants one) who plays both classically and contemporary music...although god knows what 'I bet you look good on the dancefloor' sounds like on violin.
I also like the idea of some of the olden days rock and roll-y type stuff....xx

Lol, Laura! That might be quite an experience on the violin! H2b is quite in to his classical music - well - he knows more about it than me at least so i'm going to add it to the list of task he has been given. I shall let you know what he finds when he finds it. Thanks all. xx
