I found out earlier that a lot of football clubs will send you a telegram for your best man to read out on your wedding day. Some clubs will even get the players to sign it and send gifts such as a garter for the bride. Me and my H2B are both huge Spurs fans so I've written to the club. Really hope I get a reply, My H2B will be so pleased!

I've written two, one to the customer services email on the club website and another hand written directly to the club manager. I think whoever you write to, it will get distributed to the right person. I also know someone who got on the front cover of the following weeks programme. My wedding is out of season though unfortuntaely

my h2b is a big nottingham forest supporter but he's also works there as he's a groundsman so he can get anything from there signed and that i could tell him to get something signed for the best man as a gift as he's a big forest fan aswel thanks to this thread my best mans gift is sorted lol :) xx

My H2B is a Charlton fan and we both have season tickets. It's a great idea. Luckily his dad is the chairman of the Supporters' Club and so he gets stuff like that all the time (H2B has handed out the POTY trophey before now). I'd like one from Liverpool though as that's who I support :o)

Lisa, have you got your garter yet? I can't seem to find one as despite them being on the Spurs website, there doesn't seem to be a link to actually buy one. I'm going to the game on Wednesday so hoping I'll have time to look in the shop

I just emailed [email protected], told them about the wedding and the fact that we are all fans and asked if it would be possible for them to write a letter of good luck for the best man to read out on the day. Some clubs send cards, some just do a letter, I'll let you know once I receive it

Just to let you know, I emailed customer services at the football ground on Thursday (18th March) and they passed my details onto the administrator. I received an email saying that they will get the manager to write a letter to me and h2b for our wedding day.

Thanx G.I...this is a great idea for my h2b....only thing for me is I'm not getting married for YEARS!!!! so anything can happen in the world of football llol...do I try and get a telegram while his legendary hero is manager...or wait til the time and make it a more recent and up to date thing...hmmmm!!! I'm not a football fan, but I'm having a Rangers garter for h2b, and I've 'allowed' (haha), the tables to be named after the club too...think we will be going for players names :)
