My mums saying I shouldn't book photographer for my wedding yet coz we aren't getting married til 2016. And she thinks its strange the lady taking bookings so far. Now she's putting dealts in my head. What should I do? If I book now it's guna cost £650 but obviously over time price will go up :( x

i would check you are 100% happy with the photographers. we booked 2 years in advance and didnt change our minds but we shopped around alot. In 3 years things change and businesses go under so maybe wait a bit, at least until you take out insurance and then you are covered if something does happen.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
    start weight 10st 1.5 lbs

You have time to really look around so don't rush into anything just yet. Also, on the price front, remember they can go down as well as up so in a couple of years time you might actually be able to get it cheaper. If you really have your heart set on this photographer though then look at booking her in couple of months when you have really had time to think about it :) xxx

We're having a 3.5 year engagement, and are about half-way through it. We booked our venue early, but are leaving other big things until about 18 months before due to the economic climate; we'd feel safer leaving it a little later, plus we now have insurance (you won't be able to take insurance out until 2 years before your wedding).

I'd second not rushing; I'd give it at least another year before booking, and ideally, I'd wait until I'd taken out insurance.

That said, if you suspect her prices will increase dramatically (which could be the case if she's just starting out for eg), and she's prepared to take a very small deposit to secure the date, then maybe consider booking in a few months time.

I booked mine last oct and im not getting married until end of 2014. I booked mine at a wedding fair, I was walking round and every photographer what stop us asked our date, When we told them they all acted the same, Very rude like laughing and saying come back in 2 years. Then near the last stalls a man approched me, introduced himself asked our names and when and where we were getting married, I told him and he looked relieved, I asked him why he was soo happy it was so far away and he said because he was having to turn most of the brides away that day as he was fully booked for ages, He showed me his diary and it was jam packed. He also had a special offer on that day for 2014 brides. I booked and got a great deal and a free engagement shoot. Which iv had and love the pics. I paid £75 deposit on a credit card. We have been to his house to see his work. I dont have to pay in full until 3 weeks before my wedding date.(I made sure i walked by the other stalls saying how happy i was that i had booked him lol) I also had similar experience when booking my venue. Again last oct i viewed the veune i wanted, I asked to be penciled in for my date. Within 3 weeks i got a call to say they had shown 3 couples around and they all want our date. So i booked and paid my deposit. I would say book asap and just paid deposit only by credit card. If u r using a good company for anything then its only normal for them to be booked up early and then having to take bookings 2 years down the line.
