We picked our lovely church a few months ago but it's nowhere near where we live (we live in a horrible area - only here for house prices and in the interim whilst we save up - so really don't want to get married round here)... It's 50 miles away so as the Church of England states - you must go 'regularly' for 6+months prior to your wedding...

This starts today! I am very excited at seeing 'our' church full of people and meeting everyone as we have only spoken to people on the phone and viewed he church empty.

Best get up and get OH up as it's 50 miles away!

Just thought I'd share my excitement :-D

Gosh that is a distance, but worth it. Hope you enjoy the next six months, we went to see ur church yesterday and it was empty and just gorgeous I didn't want to leave. I can't wait to walk up the isle it's just perfect :) so I can see why you'd travel that distance and don't let anyone make u feel like ur doing it wrong or wasting time and money. You do what you want to do Nd stick with it :) x

Our whole wedding is what we want and not 'what you are supposed to do'

We are only inviting a handful of people to the ceremony and we are going to spend the whole weekend with them, the following week we are having a big party with everyone in a gothic looking place - it's like black fibreglass caves! We are only inviting who we want there - any family members that we only see at weddings are NOT on the list - why should they be?? haha

    I am so excited! xx

I think its a good thing to feel comfortable in any church and one for your wedding is even more important.
we attend our church once a month but due to both being divorcees the vicar is really reluctant to marry us, he still hasnt given us a 100% answer.

I hope you enjoyed meeting the congregation xx
