So I am actually really tempted to try and do some DIY invitations... I am absolutely in love with the Pocketfold design but have no idea where to begin in terms of where is best to go to get samples/templates etc.
Is it best to just buy plain card and completely DIY it or find somewhere that can send me the blank invitation and I just create the inserts etc? If I do find a template somewhere, whats best, I know pocketfold design isn't the cheapest around!
So many questions and have no idea where to start with those let alone anything else!

So lost... help please *puppy dog eyes* xx

We are having pocketfold invites I love them.

It was hard work we did 75 invites in 5 hours out of A3 and we got two invites out of one.

I can put on your wall where we got our bits from. You can buy them ready made but I think they are more expensive.

Our design is a bit more different then most Pocketfolds as I dont like to be the same as other people.

I could see if we could send you one of ours - I would have to ask first as I dont have them at home she has them so you could work off that if that helped.

I can also tell you where we got all the bits that we used to do the measurements it only cost us £30 quid but my Mil2b makes her own cards so she can use it. But you could always sell it afterwards

ah yeh thanks, any advice would be greatly appreciated! thanks MrsK2B!

I found a site that has the blank invite with no inserts or anything already cut out that doesn't seem that expensive, and i know it wont be hard to print and stick inserts in etc and the site does seem really useful, but then again its only one site i've found so far!

My mom was going to do all of them for me as she used to do calligraphy and stuff but due to unfortunate health problems she won't be able to do all the fine details so getting ready made and put it together yourself type thing might be better for us!

So yeh send away any links or info you can give me - all will be greatly appreciated! if you cant get hold then thats not a problem, or even just a picci would be fine really! Anything that you think may help!

    Thank you! xx

    Thanks for the links ladies....

x~Hails~x - thanks for that, i was actually looking at that site for a very long time... think if i do decide to go ahead ill get the blanks from there - save the worry and hassle of cutting out and fixing together etc.... inserts and attachments can easily be printed so that won't be a problem and mom/dad can help with those....

MrsWright - I actually went in there last night and couldnt find any pocketfold ones just plain blank card / normal folded ones! might check out their website we shall see!

Lizzylou - it looks like an envelope and you open it out into 3 fold and has the invite stuck in and then a pocket bit to inc rsvp card, directions, gift list etc... if you have g00gle you'll see what i mean! probably haven't explained it very well! xx

Nope, Lula88 you've explained it very well. I do know what you mean now you've described it, i just didn't know that is what it was called. I think they have plain ones of those in craft of hobby? Or i'm sure you'll be able to get them online in that big rainforest based book and stationary store.

yeh someone else mentioned that hobby c do them but when i was in there yesterday i couldnt find! but will defo be checking out the website... and the link that Hails put on my wall is defo looking likely if i do go down the DIY route!
Keep getting all these random ideas in my head its just figuring them out on paper and working out what will actually work... may have to do some random doodle sketches like i did for the cake idea haha...

Well im glad i explained it ok for you! x

I should be going there soon with mil if i see any I will get a couple for you.

Or if you are doing the DIY one I can ask my mil to do our measurments on paper and I could pop it in the post for you on monday if you wanted to?

I think my only concern, well main concern with doing them myself is as you have mentioned the measurements... I looked up images/websites that explain how to do it but its all the gluing together and making sure it all stays intact that i'd probably panic with!
The problem with HobbyC is that they didn't have many different colours just white or ivory ready made invites!

So if i was to DIY them, it would probably involve buying them ready made (from somewhere like the site hails mentioned) but just the blank template/card & finding separate insert paper & doing all the text/print and sticking in which doesn't phase me!
It's more making them personal that i'm struggling with! dont want it extremely detailed but not just a colour card with a colour insert you know?

    xx

You can get low cost ones off ebay, even personalised. They often work out cheaper than having to buy all the bits yourself. The ones I found worked out cheaper than the ones my sister made for hers. Xxx
