Getting married on 13th April, I've ordered my invites, however am not sure whether its a bit too eager to be sending them just yet...I dont want people to forget about the wedding as christmas is coming up... What do you think? My h2b wants to get them out the way and sent, and 1 minute I agree and the next I feel its a bit silly....

If i was going to a wedding in april i would like to know now, As i book my holiday round about now for april. So i would say send them now so people know your date and can book around it.

I think as it's only four months after Xmas and you want to get your invite mixed up with Xmas cards now would be a good time to send them out x

Yes, send them now. Some people take a while to respond too. That way you will have a better idea off your final numbers and aslo leave you time to chase anyone up who is slow in replying.

I don't see it doing any harm but i think it will get lost with all the Chrismtas cards so i would be tempted to send it first week of January so something exciting for people once Christmas is done....

    Tricky isnt it,
If you need to know numbers for the meals etc then leaving it til January may be a little late, seeing as then guest need to rsvp, so say february, then you're only two months away.
I think I'd go for it now.

Let us know what you decide xx

Im allowed to change my numbers 48hours before the day! So the hotel is quite flexible with our reception. I sent save the dates out quite a while ago to the majority of my guests but yesterday we had a meeting with our wedding co-ordinator at the hotel, sat down and got them write down a price and sign it..and it worked out the same price to have 50 guests on the package rather than 32, so there are 20 guests that havnt recieved a save the date yet, so wouldnt know...

I just dont want people to forget about the wedding, because christmas is only a couple of months away... but the majority of you seem to say I should send them now xxx

Yes, Im not wanting to send the evening ones out just yet either, the evening is a bit more informal, so think 5months notice is quite a lot, would be happy to do the same as u and send evening invites in Jan, Think I will send my day invites out this month now after alot of u ladies suggesting I should! ahhh better get a move on!

I'm in June next year and I'm just getting my STD cards out. I'm only sending them to people who may struggle to get time off or long distance etc. I'm probably going to send the invites out in March with an RSVP date of 1st May. If you haven't got STD cards then I would say it's not too soon to send the invites out. You could combine them with Christmas cards to save on postage.

    I can't wait until 29/06/2013
The day I marry the man of my dreams!

I would send them now if you haven't sent save the date's. As a guest, I personally would want 6 months notice so I could organise time off work, sort out accommodation, etc.

If you've sent save the dates, I would probably went until after Christmas, depending on when your venue needs final numbers/menu choices etc by.

My wedding is the week before yours. My H2B and I were discussing it yesterday. We agreed that as we've sent out save the date cards to the main people we want to attend we don't need to send our invitations out quite so soon. We're sending them out the first week of January.

I have sent save the date cards to half of the people invited as it was only yesterday we decided to up our day guests to 50 after speaking to the hotel. So half of our day guests havnt recieved a save the date card, so it probably would be easier to just send the invites now, rather than buying save the date cards for half of our day guests again! lol xx

I think send them now, if you leave it till after christmas you're either giving them a short time to reply or yourselfs a short time to add up all the numbers really close to the big day. x

What about save the dates? Last wedding I went to we all got fridge magnets with wedding details on. It was there to remind us every time we made a cup of tea! Worked a treat x

I've sent out save the dates so that our guests know the date and basic details but am leaving the invites until February and some evening ones even later. I would say that if you haven't sent out save the dates send out the invitations now x

I'd send them out now :-) It allows you time to get all your replies back and it allows your guests to book time off work, hotels if they need to stay down and start thinking about outfits :-) x

Im end of May and will be sending them jan/feb time... but as yours is the month before, and with mix up around Xmas, unless your planning on sending them out with Xmas cards i'd do it just before the Xmas rush!
We didnt do STD's just word of mouth, and with the wonders of modern social networking people are never going to forget when it is, every month I have a countdown with so many months to go etc! or the odd wedding related status update! x

I have sent the invites off to be printed and so now will be sending them as soon as they get to me! Thanks for your help! xx
