Fairytale - How did you make your little boxes? We're definitely having cancer research favours and thought of doing little organza bags with mint imperials in them. Though I'm still trying to persuade h2b that mints are a good idea. His dad doesnt like mints so he doesnt want to do them. I've told him I'll do a little bag of fudge especially for his dad but he still doesnt seem keen bless him x
CommentAuthorMRST
i just ordered a small tresure chest sample, think i will get small choco coins and put them in, but they are only to take to kenya. dont know what to have here!! somethin cheap i need x
CommentAuthorMrs fairytale
wales i cheated lol, i bought some packs of flat boxes think they where £2.99 for 10, then just bought my ribbon and made the tags out of bits of card and printed the names off the computer xx
cant wait to renew my vows, love my hubby sssssooooo much xx
CommentAuthorWalesfromafar
Thanks darling. Looks like little bags are the best option for me then for my mints (that we WILL have in the bags lol) as they'll be a bit expensive for me with the cancer research favours as well. So will have my little cancer research favours, my organza bags and pebbles with name tags on with caligraphy I think. Loads of time to decide though x
CommentAuthorMrs fairytale
am loving the cancer favours, where do u get them from as think i might like to have them as well. as some people close to me have suffered from cancer xx
cant wait to renew my vows, love my hubby sssssooooo much xx
CommentAuthorSuzi
You girls just got me crying, thanks for that lol...
***pulls herself together*** I think I will go down the lines of charity in some way for the favours as well, I was going to do the speeches sweepstake for charity so maybe have 2 charities, British Heart Foundation (lost my brother and closest friend to heart issues) and the cancer organisation as we recently lost my cousin to Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma!
Great idea!!! Although we cant have sweets due to my step son being type 1 diabetic hmmmm thinking hat time!

Hi everyone, i'm new to this site and having a bit of trouble working my way around it, so i do appologise if i'm stepping on anyones toes. I've just got engaged and i have one question that i need answering, has the law changed to get married anywhere within a church. I know it was only allowed to get married in your local parish but someone told me this has changed. Does anyone know if this is true or not? PLEASE HELP
CommentAuthorMrs (Dove) Pidgeon
Hey Stace. You can get married in CofE church that you have a connection to or are on the Parish Roll.

Hi Stace and welcome. Dont worry everyone is really nice and will help ya.
the best way to get people to notice your question is to start a new thread about it.
As for the parish, my church told me that you can get married in any church as long as the banns are read at your loacl parish (and your local will will prob charge you for that) xx

Thanks for the advice ladies,
how do you start a new thread??? not so good with computers. That's what my friend said about getting banns read and being able to get married anywhere now. Not that i didn't trust her but thought best to ask around before jumping in and making a fool of myself. lol

Fairytale - Cancer Research Favours are just on their website. Go to their site and search for favours within the site or just google cancer research favours. You get a little card saying something along the lines of "A donation has been made on your behalf at the wedding of [bride] and [groom] on [date]" and you get a pin badge attached to it. Think you have a choice of three. The suggested donation is £1 per badge. Suzi - Someone else was looking at donating to charities that don't do their own favours so a couple of us wrote her some poems. Search discussions for Poem Ideas and I think it comes up on top. You could maybe steal one of these and change it to what you wanted and make the donation to those charities of about £1 per guest x

I am going to buy burgundy and ivory organza pouches nearer the time, and just fill them with whatever heartshaped sweets and chocolates or colour co-ordinated chocolates i can find at the time, and probably some crystals and heart confetti x

VIEathome_Daffy - This is one of the sites I have looked at but I am getting a mate to make them. You can buy seeds in bulk on the internet and she is making the pouches as I made her wedding favours last year. http://www.wildflower-favours.co.uk/categories.asp?Sector_ID=5
