After looking at the amount I'm about to pay out for our wedding and not being able to afford a honeymoon I'm kind of regretting not going abroad to do it, just a nice quiet service surrounded by luxury and then a party when we come back lol jealous muchly xx

Hi Clare, That is exactly the reason we are looking to do it abroad.I want the cost of our honeymoon to be included in the amount we spand. The cheapest package we could get here is just over £4k for 40 day guests and 100 evening. Then we would have to add the cost of the honeymoon too!! I can't justify that I would rather pay it off my mortgage or put it towards a new car then spend that on just one day.

Our first thought was to go abroad. Although my family said 'just let us know when and where and we'll book to come as well, h2b's family wouldn't have come so we kind of stayed to do it here for them. Still paying a fortune for it though. I'm regretting not being selfish and saying stuff em loloh well, we'll have a nice day, just have to wait for honeymoon x

Hi AmandaW1. I got married in Vegas - further afield that you are planning, give, but can highly recommend getting married abroad. We also had a blessing in our local park, done by a friend, and a party for all those who couldn't make it to the actual wedding. There are threads on here about weddings abroad that may help - you just need to use the search function and put something like 'weddings abroad' in the search box and up they'll pop!
    Good luck with the planning.

Hi amanda, I'm getting married in Cyprus in 2014. Doing it all myself rather than getting a planner or booking through a travel agent, I've found it really easy and am enjoying it. I wouldn't want a wedding booked through a travel agent as I want to be able to pick my own things and make the wedding unique to us and more importantly so that it suits the type of people we are. So far I've booked the ceremony, the reception, the photographer and videographer. We're going to be staying in an apartment complex rather than a hotel for the first week when the family are with us as some cant afford a hotel but then OH and I are going to book a hotel for the second week. I'm just waiting for flights to be released now so that I can get those and the accomodation booked. There's loads of information about but if I can help at all just let me know

4th April 2014 - I get married to my soul mate

Further to Debra's post one of the benefits of Cyprus is that it is all in English so you don't have to get your documents translated - which I understand can be quite costly!

    Hi Amanda,
I am looking to be wed in Ayia Nappa, Cyprus 2014. I done loads of research (Legal, Hotels, Ceremony & costs) into Cyprus, Turkey and Greece but tbh Cyprus seems to be the easiest country and provides all documents etc in English. However it does seem to be more expensive in general but h2b had his heart set on Nissi Beach so got to make him happy :-) I am booking my hotel, flights and ceremony with Thomson/ First Choice as they have plenty of experience in planning weddings and I have zero plus I like that they take the stress away and organizing my reception direct with Hotel (Thomson don't organise your reception) just waiting for the 2014 prices to be released (hopefully April). Good luck with the planning let me know if I can help at all

    Hi Amanda,

I can suggest you to marry in Puglia, Italy. You have a direct flight from London, in almost 3 hours you are there. And you can find several stunning locations over there...
