I'm trying to fill out the wedding photographer booking form and I'm debating over paying an extra £100 pounds for extra coverage. If we don't pay it then we only get him from my preparations till the beginning of the meal. If we do pay it we get him till the end of the first dance/cake cutting/bouquet tossing (whichever goes last). What do you think I should do?? x

I had same predicament as you, we have asked for the extra coverage.. so from preparations until cutting of the cake - which not having then (she assumed was in the wedding breakfast) but i've asked if she can come back for the evening to capture the first dance, actual cutting of cake and other guests who will only be attending the evening etc. so staying until about 9/930ish for an extra £100 or £150 cant quite remember.... xx

Personally, I would say go for it. It would be better to pay the bit extra and have so extra photos, than regret later on not having the photographer there.

Ours is with us from the preperations until 11pm. I think it is worth the extra money just to catch those extra special moments that would be missed if not xxx

I think I'm going to go for the extra coverage. I'd be gutted if we missed out on a special moment and it's not something we can redo :)

Ours is just staying til the start of the wedding breakfast...we will be having a dummy cake cutting shot though.
The price seemed to jump up ridiculously if we wanted one for up to the first dance as we are having quite a large break, so we decided not to bother.
However, my cousin has just started out as a photographer and is building her portfolio, so she wants to 'have a go' at the evening reception. Even if they turn out pants (which I'm sure they won't - the weddings she has done so far look fab) I won't feel bad as we wouldn't have had any if it wasn't for her xx

We're getting 'unlimited' coverage: from bridal preps right up until about 10pm (so, well into our evening reception).
It's really important for us to have a full days coverage, particularly as we're having additional evening guests; plus we wanted photos of the evening celebrations.
I personally would definitely pay the extra.

I spent ages trying to find a reasonable but really good photographer! I met up with some terrible companies who showed me no albums from a whole wedding day..and literally just a select few pictures! didnt fill me with confidence lol I managed to find a good company who offered great value for money. I get 2 photographers on the day, coverage from getting ready right up until first dance...all for £500... when they came round for a meeting, they showed me albums from 5 different couples weddings... so i could see they were consistant..if you can squeeze an extra £100 id do it..it means ur whole special day is captured xxx
