I am new to this site and looking for any brides or brides to be who can offer some advice on marrying in either Cyprus or Turkey. I am hoping to get married in May 2014 but have no idea what's involved or how much everything costs. Got some brochures from travel agents but they don't go into a lot of detail regarding evening receptions, legal fee's etc. If anyone can share there experiences or advise I would be most appreciative!! x

Im getting married in turkey next year, and it all depends on ur wedding package. Some packages offer a meal after the ceremony as part of the cost. Ours doesnt but i am going 2 ask my wedding coordinator about any good restaurants to go to once we are there. Regarding legal fees, they suggest u travel to anatalya to get all ur documents translated into turkish. This can usually be sorted out via ur wedding coordinator (if u have 1) as part of ur package. Although this will cost u a bit more money. U are going to need at least 400-500 (lire) extra to pay 4 travel there, translation of documents and a medical. This should only be a few questions about u and ur h2bs health history. Occasionally they have done blood tests, but i think thats only if u r marrying a Tukish man.

Hi Nicola, Congratulations, I hope you are enjoying all the planning :-) I am looking at a hotel in Dalaman, Its so hard to try and picture it all, Trip advisor scares me to as so many moaners, just dont know where is best, have you booked through a travel agent or have you gone with a private firm?
