hi there just wanting your girls thoughts me and h2b have been planning our wedding for all most 2 years now and have had our colour since day one witch is white and red well any we all my family and close friends know this from day 1 well my older brother ( that has been married b4 and got devoiced after 6 months and his second left him at the alter) decided last week they going to get married ( 3rd time luck ) and there going to do it this year (November ) now they dont have a lot of money they r on the dole so it will b nothing like mine but they have now told me they going to use the same colour theam as mine and the bm dresses she is lending of her mams friend are identical to my bm dresses i was so peeeeed of when they told me so know i have to find some new bm dresses as i cant bring my self to let my girls were the same dresses am i being selfish they even had the nerve to ask if they could use any of my stuff :(
just really need your thoughts on this girls a hope its just not me being selfish

I wouldn't worry too much about it, white and red are quite common wedding colours so I'm sure people wouldn't notice and as you've already said yours is going to be better anyways :). As for the bridesmaids dresses have you thought about maybe adding a sash or something to make them a bit different instead of looking for new ones? You can get little shoulder shrugs and sashes cheap from the bay and they can make a dress look completely different! Try not to worry about it too much I know it's annoying when people have the same as you and are getting married before you but on the day no one will even notice. Hope this helped x

I started off as red and white and then changed to ivory.... it sounds like you are having a bigger budget wedding and white looks amazing and elegant. I had the bm in a different colour but they matched the groomsmen and then everything else was white/ivory. Looked stunning... maybe you could jusk ask to change the BM colour dresses instead or see if they can ammend the order though to be honest I doubt people will notice as it sounds like your wedding will be different anyways but I would be fuming if it were me so good luck x

ah just seen your photies so you cant really change from red as your dress has red in it and so do the louboutins.... erm... haha.... I dont know what to suggest only im sure people wont think twice about the colours being the same and just see if there is anything you can do about the BM dresses. Hvae you spoken to your older brother about this? He may sort something with regards to the dresses

I posted something sil=milar not so long ago one of my my friends is having same colour as us.
I dont think they would have same dresses our tastes little dofferent and I dont think would ask to borrow anything but can understand why u so annoyed and no I dont thin k it being selfish, you want the wedding you dreamed of but as it sounds like you have the larger budget it will be totally differnt anyway so the same colour I dont think will matter however i would have to get different dresses and say they cant have anything to borrow x x
I don't think you're being selfish for not letting them use the items that you have bought, what if they get broken?! You've saved and paid for the things you want, it's up to them to do the same for their day.
As for the colour scheme, it's not the end of the world, the days will be completely different anyway, and red and white is a very common colour scheme.

No, i would also be annoyed. If they knew that was your colour scheme, why would they have it too? However, try not to let it bother you too much. Red and White is a popular colour scheme so it won't look weird that you both have it, and I'm sure it'll look totally different at different weddings x

I can really see why you are annoyed but try not to let it get to you. Sounds to me like they've dived in and done it all rather quickly so you know that you're wedding will be fab in comparrison (that's not to run your brother down). Why do you try adding another colour to compliment what you already have, that way it'll be different but you haven't had to change too much of what you've already done.
Don't let it upset you. Your day will be stunning what ever happens. And by the time 9months comes around everyone will have forgot about this November so probably won't even realise your brother had the same colours. xx

They're obviously going for red because it's the easiest colour for them if they can borrow someone elses BM dresses and if they think they can borrow your bits. Maybe if you tell them you don't want them using your stuff they'll give up on red?
It's really unfair of them to think they can just take bits from your wedding to use for themselves though, that's really rude.
Red is a popular colour though so I don't think anyone will say you copied them or anything like that.

thanks lady i know its a popular colour the thing that was getting to me was they were going baby pink and the girl they lending the bm dresses off had baby pink and the red and they still when with the red but like you all say there is a good few months time scale between them i was just a little upset that they would do that after they now how much time and effort we have put in to planning our wedding i think if i just change my bm dresses then every thing will b fine i feel a lot better about it now that you all have gave your advice thank you all so much dont no what i would do with out you all xx
