    Hiya girls,

Just seen someone mention about thank you cards for after the wedding.

We get married on the Sat and fly out on the Monday.

What is etiquette where thank you notes etc are concerned?

I would but I would do them after you get back, thats what we are planning to do, or ask your MOH to start planning your thank you list when you are away and then all you have to do is write the cards when you get back

No you defiantly need to bother.... my pet hate when people don't thank me for money/vouchers/presents as dont know they have been received and its polite. But i would do it when you are back and can enjoy reading the cards through and writting replies xxx

i undoubtedly will be sending out thank you cards as IMO its rude not to, we went to a wedding in July and gave them money but didnt receive a thank you card and i thought it was a bit off for them not to but everyone has their own opinions! I am going to try to get them out before we go on honeymoon (2 days after the wedding) but if not i will send them out shortly after we are back xx

that would be perfect honey... you just need to acknowledge the voucher/money and thank people for coming. I think up to a month after the wedding will be fine xxx

You don't need to send them out straight away. I think when I went to a wedding last year I got a thank you about 3 months later!!!

The rule is you have three months to get them out but it would be best to get them out within a couple weeks of returning from the honeymoon. I also recommend writing a list of who gave what when you open everything, just so there's no confusion later.

each to their own...some start sending thank yous out as soon as they receive - especially if early.... normally theres the word of mouth thank you on the day and then maybe in passing over the next few days - but usually a few wks later, thankyous come in post. they'll know your on honeymoon so won't complain that they havent received any! xx
