of seeing the vintage theme!! the posts online and in magazines i have are beautiful dont get me wrong, but when i am looking for inspiration for my caribbean theme, i am finding it so hard to come across ideas!!

how are you ladies looking for inspiration when not having a vinatage themed wedding?

i just look on alternative sites, not sure if that helps you at all, but Im a bit of a geek, so i tend to find things by just typing alternative weddings in g00gley. Ive bought a couple of wedding mags but I find them completely irrelevant to me.

I'm not sure what to suggest searching, exotic themes maybe?? Or maybe just leave the wedding out of the search entirely and start with just g00gling caribean related things, you can still get ideas from that?

I totally know how you feel... as much as i love the vintage theme, its not for everyone!!!!!
give us some other ideas please mags, i spend enough on you each month!! make it worth my while!! now i have chosen my dress i dont need dress advice!!

Well we havent got a theme, our colours are turquoise and silver and thats about it.
We love Disney, got engaged there and honeymooning in Florida, so want to incorporate that, but not to the extent of a complete theme, more a case of when it comes up in conversation ideas start flowing, or when i look in mags at things like the other day i saw a table plan company that does custom/funky styles like the london tube map, got me thinking do we have a like washout of the disneyland park behind the table plan etc.... my inspiration comes from thin air, and at this precise moment if it aint vintage it aint appearing!!! x

I had a caribbean theme in my first wedding and my florist helped me out loads she made all my centerpieces different used coloured vases to pop the colours they were bright colours and even used little baby pineapples in the displays lol, just google it and you will find loads, vintage will pass soon.

They do seem to concentrate on themes quite a lot rather than colour schemes or such, Ive found g00gle to be the best help when Ive been researching wedding ideas. I bought a few mags and get excited by them, but now Ive got my dress and most things picked I see them as pointless. Except for the wedding stories, but I have my fix on here :)

I'd get on g00gle and take inspiration from things other than weddings - home decor, fashion, other parties

I agree. As much as i like vintage, i'm getting a bit tired of seeing it in every single magazine i pick up. I've not really got a theme yet. x

Totally agree, as much as I like it and can understand why it's popular, we need to see other stuff too!!

Ours is themed around Autumn but all the mags I've seen seem to go lots of Spring ideas, lots and lots and lots more Summer ideas, 1 maybe 2 Autumn ideas and loads of Christmassy Winter ideas.. I mean come on. We need variety! Think I've had more luck with looking at American fall weddings than I have looking at our UK mags :( x
