My h2b is quite unusual in that he has taken a lot to do with our wedding planning. Unfortunately he is all about the 'proper' wedding etiquette, following it to the letter! How can I get round this? For instance I've seen some readings I'd maybe like to read, but I know he won't b keen as its not tradition for the bride to have a speech or say anything lol.

It's your day as well so you should have a say in what happens.

You could point out the traditions you aren't following, tell him that nothing bad is going to happen if you have a more personalized wedding.

I have spoke to him,but he kind of just laughs it off! I had wanted to say a little something too but he says he doesnt want me to as im not 'meant' to. He also doesnt want to toast his bride as he read somewhere what was mentioned in the grooms speech and toasting your wife wasnt in it!

I thought the groom always toasted the bride? We're being a bit different with the speeches, my h2b is quite shy - i'm not so im doing the speech x
I'd just say that you want to stick to tradition but as its your day as well as his you would like to say something but make him feel his is the big speech.x

It is your day to so you should have it how you want it. It's like a recipe tradition can be there for guidance but not to follow to the letter. Everybody is different so weddings should reflect that or they would all be the same x x

He is supposed to toast his wife. Traditionally it's the first time he gets to call you that!

I'd have a chat with him. You can then give your opinion.
