im sure this is a stupid question but do you think the vicar expects to be invited to the reception?

I don't think so. I've never been to a church wedding where the vicar goes to the reception unless they are well known in the family I suppose, but it's down to you really.

agreed, I think it only applies when there is a close relationship with the vicar.

All the catholic weddings I've been to have had the priest invited, but I think they had known the priest since childhood. I probably wouldn't personally xx
My vicar is coming but as has already been said, that's only because he's close to the family x

no i dont think so, we invited our vicar to the after doo of our sons christening but that was only beacuse it was across the road and a buffet, and he didnt come as he was busy. i dont think they expect to be invited especially to something that cost so much. i think unless they were a close family friend it would be like inviting your florrist/cake maker/ hair and makeup artist/dress makers along to the wedding aswel x
