Me and my mum are very close. actually even closer now we live apart, and would love the "father/daughter" dance to be with her. I have the perfect song lined up aswel. Slipping through my fingers by Abba. my mums favorite song.
But i dont know if it will cause trouble with my dad. he's never really been there for us but i will give him his dues, he had no qualms about contributing to the wedding. (makes up for all those yrs he stole from me and my mum, but lets not get into that). But we even had to make ushers (we wasn't having any) cause he played up about not giving me away (my brother is), i even told him he could walk me down the isle with my brother but it would be my brother who would actually give me away. But i just think dancing with my mum instead of my dad will leave him hearbroken. After all he's put us through as a family he is still my dad and i dont want to hurt him.
any ideas how i can get round this without hurting anyone's feelings? x

You need to talk to him and say you and your mum really want this, or you could have a dance with both of them. Really hope you manage to sort it out x x

I say two dances. He doesn't need to know that one will mean more to you.

I agree 2 dances is the way forward, I'm thinking of doing the same with Caledonia (not sure which version yet) with my dad followed by Fleetwood Mac's Landslide with my mum :)
